He has him locked up thru the 2027 season. The new owner should come in 2029. If JR extended Mune it wouldn't be with his money. Most of that money would be paid by the new owner. The majority of the money would be given to Mune when JR is no longer the owner.

When they eventually settle will service time be given to players like after the 94-95 labor impasse. Will signed deals be automatically extended a year? These could effect his contractual status.

It could take as long as 2034. Unless you were talking to a baseball owner on his way out the door eventually I doubt he knows how contracts of that magnitude work. They could be the sole responsibility of the one who signed him unless the new owner agrees to assume all debt or partial debts. Now if you believe that tweet about Ishbia saying "not on my watch" when asked by a fan sitting near him if the Sox would lose Murakami after he bought Murakami jersery's for his kids with him then OK maybe there's a shot. ( I might have the exact story wrong but that's the jist of it.) Edited 7 hours ago7 hr by CaliSoxFanViaSWside
7 hours ago7 hr Probably was 2 weeks ago that the Sox 1st reached 2 games above .500 for the 1st time. They stumbled some on the west coast. But a day after hitting their high water mark of the season at 3 games above .500 they hit 4 games above. Next up... breaking the 4th wall and into Deadpool & Ferris Bueller territory !
7 hours ago7 hr Hitting this brutal June schedule without Murakami is going to be one heck of a challenge! I'll be happy with just a couple games under .500 for the month.

Even with you Ishbia's money, I can see him refusing to sign a player to an extension before the lockout out of principle. Jerry probably wants one more go at squashing the players union before giving out a big deal.

And he just turned 24.This time last season if you had said this you would have been called mad, Colson had been sent from AAA for special training! It just shows that sometimes patience is needed with young players. Similarly Vargas has finally begun to look an MLB player, when after arriving at the Sox he looked awful. Hopefully Quero is beginning to sort it out again after a slow start to the season.

Deadpool had excessive use of breaking the 4th wall and Ferris Bueller famously did it and made "breaking the 4th wall" come into pop culture vernacular. It's funny but I originally wrote that post and put I will explain this pop culture reference if necessary since I had no idea what GLP1 was when Wegner referenced it. I figured Breaking the 4th wall was more well known than GLP1. Edited 6 hours ago6 hr by CaliSoxFanViaSWside

No doubt they had elite talent that year but what really separated them from the pack was that they were ultimately stone cold killers. This lot are starting to resemble them mentality wise.

The fans have taken to the team and it looks like they (the fans) are having an absolute blast at the games. Of course, this says more about me being old than anything else. 😂
