White Sox - Injury Tracker

4th might be a bit early for Mune. Today is 26 days out from the injury. He does seem to be progressing well but that last 20% ramp up is the danger zone for hammies. I'd think unless he makes a rehab start before July 2nd they hold him out until after the ASB. You're only talking a difference of 3-4 games with or without him and giving him the extra week makes sense.

Very fair - I'll accept him back right after the all star break and you are probably right in terms of ramp up. Part of me liked if he could get back, than you let him rest a bit, so it kind of gives a good in between. Feels like he is trending to being back soon - you can also ease him in at DH for a bit too.

Shane Smith returning to his 2025 form at some point would really change the complexion of the rotation.

Wikelman Gonzalez has been moved up to Winston Salem to continue his rehab

My guy Mason Adams was solid in AAA rehab start #3.

5 innings 0 runs on 66 pitches. 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K. 40% whiff rate.

Looked like he could have gone deeper. 2nd straight 5IP/0R outing.

Small but positive Mune update: He's up to full speed work in the cages. The remaining checkpoint is running at full speed (he was reportedly at 80% a couple days ago), then they'll map out his rehab/return.

With Adams coming off TJ in April 2025 is a call up in the works or will he be strictly rehabbing for 2026? The rehab is looking very encouraging so far.

Pitched a perfect inning yesterday w/ 3 k’s.

I would expect him to be an option this season. He only had 5 (mostly rough) starts in Charlotte pre-TJ though, so I don't know when this year turns from making sure he's fully healthy/stretched out to evaluating MLB readiness.

Martin didn't spend much time at AAA after his TJ, but he had 100+ MLB innings already.

Sounds like there is some chance Murakami doesn’t need to go on a rehab assignment whenever he’s back to 100%. While I still expect it, Venable said that access to Trajekt machines allows for guys to get back in game speed without having to face live pitching.

Update: Teel & Hicks have moved off of the IL. Pereira has been added to the 7 day IL with a concussion. It’s now been 10 days since Everson first went on the IL, so you’d think he’d be back fairly soon, but haven’t seen any official updates on him just yet. Schultz should be back with the major league club next week. Murakami progressing well and getting closer to game action. The big question there is will he go on a rehab assignment or not and if so for how long.

On the AAA front, Gonzalez now has two appearances in High A with 4 K’s, 0 BB’s, & 0 R’s over 2.1 innings. He should be in AAA soon and could be a bullpen option for the White Sox sometime after the All-Star break. Adams has now made three starts for AAA and has been excellent posting a 1.93 ERA over 14 IP with 16K’s, 3 BB’s, 10 H’s, and a sub 1 WHIP. He’s a legit threat for Fedde’s rotation spot although would require us opening up a 40 man spot. McDougal & Shane Smith are throwing & appear to be close to beginning rehab assignments

IL - Rehab Assignment:

  • Schultz, LHP - Patellar (5/24)

7/10/15 Day IL:

  • Pereira, OF - Concussion (6/17)

  • Murakami, 1B - Hamstring (5/29)

  • Gilbert, LHP - Shoulder (6/9)

AAA IL:

  • H. Smith, LHP - Shoulder (6/16)

  • S. Smith, RHP - Rotator Cuff (5/3)

  • McDougal, RHP - Flexor (4/29)

  • Gonzalez, RHP - Lat (4/30)

  • Adams, RHP - Elbow (2025)

60 Day IL:

  • Hays, OF - Calf (5/1)

  • Bush, LHP - Shoulder (Apr/May)

  • Thorpe, RHP - Appendix (Apr/May)

  • Berroa, RHP - Elbow (Apr/May)

  • Leasure, RHP - Forearm (5/27)

Out for Season:

  • Baldwin, UT - Elbow (4/1)

  • Murray, IF - Shoulder (4/26)

  • Vasil, RHP - TJS (Mar)

Notation in the Sun-Times today that Pereira still hasn't begun baseball activities yet.

What is the recovery time from a concussion? Feel like in the NFL guys miss one or two weeks max. I can’t imagine he’s too far off, although candidly I didn’t see the play and don’t know bad it was.

This is great news. Now we just need an update on the TJS guys. Still blown away at how bad rehab has gone for those guys so far. I was really hopeful that Thorpe, Bush, & Berroa could have been part of the 2H mix, but it’s looking more & more likely we may two whole seasons from them, at least from a major league roster perspective.

At this point I'm wondering if Thorpe is alive

Yeah, what the hell is going on with him? That Cease trade looking like a total flop. It was dumb in the first place to have the main piece of the trade being a pitcher that throws 90.

Isn't it entirely dependent on when the player shows signs of recovery from the concussion? You really don't know how long it will take with concussions.

2 weeks to forever.

The typical is two days off for each day of symptoms. 1 week of problems equals 2 subsequent weeks of recovery.
