This is another thing I've noticed in the last month on twitter (not calling X) is they have been getting more media attention from all over for playing better. At least its more positive this time then setting lose records

Montgomery, Vargas, and Muni are opening up eyes. Martin will start getting some love along with Taylor. The grinders, Meidroth & Sam, are on the radar screen and will get noticed. The Sox are a very likable team from Venable on down, no A hole drama queens.

These are always the most fun teams to watch, and it’s true in every sport. It’s usually only a few ingredients needed:

• Team has been bad the last few seasons

• Get a group of prospects playing together

• Start winning games/show up a year early to the rebuild

The “surprise” season is probably the best type of season there is from an enjoyment level standpoint. Because when the team gets legit “good”, then legit expectations follow. It’s not as fun when they are expected to win, and the loses are more frustrating when you lose to teams you shouldn’t.

2007-2008 Hawks were like that, as they didn’t make the playoffs but you knew that core was primed and ready to go.

Cub fans still talk about 2015 being just as memorable as 2016. Year before they were 73-89, then in 2015 they won 97 games and made the NLCS.

It’s why while I think the Sox are at least a year away from really being truly competitive, you’d be a fool not to enjoy what’s going on right now. It’s objectively a fun, likeable team with a core that is exciting to think about moving forward.

Yes, very enjoyable baseball right now. One thing I noticed is that it's not just one or two guys having hot streak/breakout or career years, just solid work from almost everyone on the team.

To really add on, so many of my non-Sox friends that follow baseball are loving them.

• Mune gets lots of love for his personality and power.

• Everyone else has power.

• It seems silly, but memes around Pope Leo are a thing, especially after crazy wins tonight. One friend has two friends going to the Pope hat game for us to get a pair.

• Vasil and his wand.

• The Sox having the #1 pick.

There's so many fun things off the field that are gilding the team's performance that it makes them the perfect team for neutral fans to enjoy.

Just curious, what kind of coverage are the Sox now getting from local TV and the newspapers, a few times in years past when I came up to visit, the Cubs were the media darlings with the Sox an afterthought. I’m hoping things are finally changing.

They are the best story in MLB this year, reminiscent of the 2023 Orioles who was loaded with young interesting talent. Obviously I dont think we are going to win 101 games, but people from other fandoms are talking about how happy they are the white sox are relevant again and have bought into the magic.

2003/2004 White Sox teams were fun to watch, leading into the 2005 WS team. Those teams were offensive juggernauts, but didn't have the pitching to make it into the post-season (like the 2005 team)

The 2004 team was in first place at the break but when both Ordonez and Thomas went down with season ending injuries that killed any realistic chances.

Moncada is hurt again. I read where he has made over $80 million dollars in his career.
