Colson and Chase defense in this game was outstanding. Took the series from the Dodgers and Braves this week. Will now get more respect from the league and blessings from the Pope.

Whole infield saves you games and knows what to do at bat. Don’t start moving guys around.

Agree. No reason to move Colson off of SS.

Agreed...I feel that way about the whole infield and outfield. When our walking wounded return, this is a very good team.

.237 average below AA. Just saying it’s something to talk about

Do we think Ant wanted the ball from his first "real" HR?

Playing Home Run At The Rate is always fun.

When Mune comes back I would compare lineup to 1972 Dick Allen. Somewhat similar I would say.

The Sox finally put together a team to take advantage of the Rate, with lots of home run power, not Madrigal power.

I concur and that is why I,for one, am not projecting Roch to replace any of the current Sox infielders when he eventually gets taken in the Draft and promoted to the majors. As Len Kasper exclaimed after the 6th inning during today's radio broadcast "This Team !..." We have one of the best over all infields I can recall on either side of town in decades.

Keep these guys and "this team" together. Sprinkle in some pitching and they can get to the play-offs and maybe compete. And please, stop whining that Chase lacks power. Power hitting is only a small part of his game, a game that more often than not excels and exceeds expectations.

I share Len Kasper's excitement about this team. They have already provided us with a lot of entertaining games.

Dominguez drives you crazy but when you take a closer look at the $hit he throws you keep working with him about the lack of control. If he gets that figured out he could be unhittable. Venable learned from experience: Don’t let Ohtani beat you!

A Green Bay sucks chant? Get a fucking grip, people.

Would have made sense that one time last season when Quero showed up to the fantasy football draft in a green bay jersey but that moment has long passed lol. But seriously, the fucking northsiders(I hope) coming down and chanting that s%*# in key moments or at anytime, need to quit it

1972 was a strike shorten year. Dick Allen hit 37 of the teams 108 total homers, 34%. Only two other players were in double figures at 10 & 12 home runs. Bill Melton only played 57 games because of a back injury and hit 7 homers.

Dick Allen was a one man gang , league MVP, it was the greatest single season I have ever seen from a Sox player. He was the Michael Jordan of baseball in 1972.

Have you used an internet browser on your smart TV ? I can get you the game or any game if you want to message me. It's probably the easiest way if you have a fairly new 4K smart TV.

This team hits way more HR's and takes more walks and is way more left-handed however they both generated excitement. Big time power always brings in the Southsiders. We've had far too few teams like that.

The 1977 team was like that. Oscar Gamble led the team in HR. The South Side Hit Men

Oscar Gamble 31 3.6 WAR

Richie Zisk 30 2.7 WAR

Eric Soderholm 25 4.4 WAR

Chet Lemon 19 5.9 WAR

Jim Spencer 18

Lamar Johnson 18

Jorge Orta 11

Jim Essian 10 3.4 WAR Brian Downing 1.5 WAR so catching was great.

Ralph Garr 10

Also had Lerrin LaGrow at closer had 7 wins and 25 saves and 4.2 WAR

Finished 90-72 which was 3rd in the AL West. So no playoffs.

Gamble and Zisk were impending free agent traded for by Veeck for 1 year each so next year they were gone and the wins and losses .reversed. Rich Gossage and Terry Forster were traded to the Pirates. So some of the 1st rental players.

Bucky Dent and the young Lamar Hoyt were traded to the Yankees. Hoyt never pitched for the Yankees and the Sox reacquired him for the 1979 season when he was 24 years old.

The Sox hit a then franchise record for HR with 192.

I agree with you on the instant impact that both Allen and Mune had on the team. Mune was being discussed as a potential MVP and also ROY.

Hoyt was signed out of high school by the Yankees. He came to the Sox in a 1977 spring training deal. Bill Veeck traded Bucky Dent to the Yankees for Gamble, Hoyt, and pitcher Bob Polinsky. (The real key to the deal was the $200,000 that the Yankees sent the White Sox, who were strapped for cash.) Hoyt stayed with the Sox through 1984, though he did retire briefly around 1979 when he was struggling in single-A ball.
