Comerica saves us there. But how the hell did Carpenter hit it?

It’s possible Taylor needs more regular work.

WTF, Tater-Tossin Taylor got the yips, now?

Yeah. I think he definitely does

Pitch location that Carpenter hit 390 feet

Fucking bad challenge.

I would really think that until the 9th, you use the ABS for obvious strikes or balls. Trying to catch the zone by half an inch is too much of a gamble.

Quero worst in baseball calling challenge pitches

Despite all that has been said about the Tigers bullpen, I've yet to see a bad looking pitcher come out of it against the Sox. Helps them that their starters have performed really well against the Sox.

Is it that their bullpen is throwing well, or more evidence that the Sox bats are really struggling now.

I think it’s the struggling thing.

Can we get a backup at the deadline? Don't know what he provides at this point.

I had to look it up — was 11 inches above the strike zone

How about some runs. I'd like to see Dominguez out there with more than a 1 run lead.

Graphic showed it was 0.4 inches above the zone

I mean the individual pitchers basically all have good stuff and mostly are having good seasons. Will Vest is the main guy with bad season numbers I remember and we've seen him enough in the past to know he's real tough when he's on.

And here comes another new guy with a 2.08 ERA

Would really, really, really like to get a couple insurance runs here.

My man is going to get a two inning save

I didn't love it but it's not too bad all things considered given that I know the Sox philosophy is basically to make sure you don't go home with any of them left. It's late, there are only so many pitches that are taken and close, and Grant was a little bit on the ropes.

Meidroth really struggling

So do you let Taylor back out there after he didn't look that good or roll the dice and hope Dominguez doesn't walk everyone?

I see what's going on with the Tigers pen. They're basically average at run prevention, better than the Sox, but their bad performances have been highly concentrated into the worst possible situations.

I don't think we've gotten a replay on a check swing the entire series. CHSN either isn't sending a big enough crew to Detroit or they're using Detroit's cameras and Detroit is the one with a skeleton crew.

Yes. He looked good enough.

Hmmm last inning does not bode well for this one with taylor, but Dominguez is still a worse option
