Optimistic about prospects? I thought you knew better than that!

Everyone likes to believe baseball is such a predictable sport.

There's this thing called injuries and you still need good backups.

  • and if we had Mune it might be different. Give me a break with that s%*#.

    Nice gesture

  • I say this over and over. I don’t give a s%*# who the announcers are. If the Sox win that day, whoever it was were the best announcers in the world.

Braden is a fvking stud.

Grant Taylor just lacks Closer stuff and Seranthony is a joke.

Taylor has closer stuff. He makes too many mistakes.

Taylor hasn't exactly looked untouchable either.

Runs have scored against him in what...three or four consecutive games now?

If Roch isn’t at least a MLB starter, I give up

That's a funny way to spell Vahn P

No shot

Yeah he hasn't really learned how to pitch yet. If he doesn't have his best stuff, he tends to be pretty hittable.

I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for seeing Roch post a .700 OPS in Kannapolis in August.

That pitch down and away to Watson had too much of the zone for a slappy hitter...has the velo but not much movement.

Curve is much better strikeout pitch...or fb above the letters and certainly not down to a lhb.

Given the larger context, I'm annoyed at the loss but not too bothered. Hard to pull off back to back to back clutch wins.

Should've had more runs on the board in regulation but BABIP gave them no breaks (xBA finished at .209 vs. .397...) and they didn't make enough of their own.

Still took the series and put some fear into the Guards' all star closer for the remaining 10 in the season, fine.

CLE could have DeLauter back for next week, so it would be nice if today was the start of Vargas heating up again and/or Braden making an adjustment. Would also looooove a timeline update for Mune.

We play KC next while Cleveland plays a tougher team in Seattle. KC will be down Garcia. Witt Jr is not on the IL, but hasn't played in almost a week.

Braden hits a ton of grounders at high speeds that aren’t usually hits

Unfortunately doesn't have Acuna's burst out of the box...ground balls pulled to the RH side are not his friend.

He has the outfield range for RF once he gets going though.

I almost forgot about Colson bobbling a ball that should have been a double play. What was that like 3 hours ago?

Grichuk is also a beast.

Best bargain signing in ages for Sox on the position player side.

I think I saw where KC lost one of their power hitters a few days ago to the IL.

I would have rather lost in the 9th. That was a gut punch with bases loaded and 1 out not to at least extend the game

No, I kind of like that being in the back of their closer's head. The Sox are like Freddie Krueger.

Yep. I love that they will be a little more concerned the next time Smith takes the mound against us (and the Sox a little more confident).

Will Baldwin be starting?

I'd bet that Baldwin+Antonacci is easily better than Antonacci+Meidroth.

That was a pisser. Enjoy the day off and then kick some Royal arse.

That was a big play.

Also, I've said it before and want to reiterate I do not like the Joe Rock experience.

The Sox pants their Closer in this series.

Taylor failed again.

Damn right they do.

He's gonna be the best of the bunch

Didn’t he hit 2 for 4 with a homer?

He was 1-4, but I'm saying it would be good if these are signs of him successfully adjusting to the bigs after the tough stretch last week.
