7/4 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (6:10pm CST)

Massive game tonight. A win puts us back in a tie for 1st…a loss puts us two games out. Is Burke up for the task and can he give us at least six strong? That will likely decide our fate tonight.

Let’s fucking go and happy 4th to all of y’all!

God bless America and the White Sox.

Burke is the only starter with better splits on the road, need him to keep that up and be a big stopper today.

Sox are the only team in MLB to not lose 4 in a row, let's keep that goin.

Happy 4th everyone! It's a bad day to be a beer.

Rockin and a Rollin

Splishin and a Splashin

Over the horizon, what can it be?

Looks like it's going to be....a Sox victory

Yay!!!!!!

I predict..

PAIN!!!!

I don’t think the question is “can Burke get it done” as much as it is “can the pen hold it”

2Deep, I think they're going to channel some controlled anger into an offensive explosion!

Oh, and then there's this:

Something tells me they're due. Hard to imagine not losing 4 in a row in 2026. Last year was the norm.

Chase batting 3rd is a choice

Not really feeling an offensive explosion from that lineup to be honest.

against a tough pitcher, don't like the chances

Wegner, as a guitar player/singer, it reminds me of preparing a setlist for a gig, where you try to come up with a lineup of songs that has just the right balance of tempos, moods, etc., and you keep a few tunes in reserve that you can turn to if the situation seems right at some point. (Of course, as a 73-year old, my gigs are almost exclusively at retirement homes, so I'm probably over-thinking my setlists, but what the heck, I enjoy the process.) Somehow today's Sox lineup strikes me as having that really nice balance between power and finesse, with some solid guys in reserve if the situation eventually dictates.

Agreed. Maybe the ball will bounce their way tonight.

I love your thinking, Bill, and hope you're right.
