He's played in every game since he's been up and started all but 1 IIRC, so one imagines it's just an extra day off.

We'll see what happens. You said you wished they could open up a divisional lead, without solid consistent pitching that's going to be hard to do. Unless Getz can get some help it figures to go down t

CST = Chicago Sox Time, used to differentiate from Boston Sox Time.

Fire the CHSN intern

what the actual f*** is that? as someone that runs an accountability based business, that's a crazy mistake to make, and one I'd be embarrassed to even call "work".

All I ask is for you guys to use Japan Standard Time for the thread when Mune comes back haha

They seem to like Junior. Hopefully he can contribute, he's been OK so far as the 25th or 26th man type.

Would be nice to go on an extended winning streak and create some cushion within the division.

Just don't think they have the pitching to rip off a six or seven game winning streak.

Reading some Red Sox internet, what a cocky ass fanbase. I hope Teal, Chase and Montgomery rub it in their faces this series. Given their resources they've been objectively crap the last half decade.

And for all the hand-wringing that Chris Getz wasn't able to obtain all of Kristian Campbell, Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer for Crochet, it seems like the Red Sox were scouted accordingly, and we got what we wanted.

Boston is coming in hot and need to extend their good stretch if they want to get in the wild card race before it's too late. I wouldn't expect an easy series despite their underwhelming record.

Our Sox have been good at home, but will need to stay focused against some good pitching.

Tolle is a talented young LHP having a bit of a breakout season, though the Nats chased him early in his last outing (3 IP, 6 ER). Elite extension guy, Bannister would love him. Great 4 seam, hittable sinker, slight reverse splits this season.

He's only allowed 2 HR in 5 road starts, but weirdly his road K/9 has been much lower than what he gets at home (5.7 vs 11.2). Surface level stats are similar overall though.

There's a couple RH bats Schultz will need to be careful with, including old friend Romy Gonzales who has hit the ground running since his injury-delayed season debut a few games ago (6-20, HR, 3B, 4 RBI).

I remember in 05 a bunch of soxtalk members browsed thier messageboard sons of Sam horn and those guys were absolutely sure they were gonna beat the white sox asses by an average of 30 runs

I don’t like this lineup. Would have rather seen something like this:

  1. C. Meidroth, 2B

  2. M. Vargas, 3B

  3. C. Montgomery, SS*

  4. R. Grichuk, DH

  5. J. Gonzalez, 1B*

  6. Perez, RF

  7. K. Teel, CA*

  8. L. Acuna, CF

  9. S. Antonacci, LF*

Why is Braden Montgomery not playing tonight?

He’s also not good vs LHP

And they're facing three straight LHSP, so it wouldn't surprise me to see each of Ant/Peters/Braden get an off day this series just to sort of split them up.

Tough time to be missing Pereira, hopefully Grichuk can do his thing and Perez can show something.

We also didn't think they'd be in first place on July 7th yet here we are 😂

We'll see what happens. You said you wished they could open up a divisional lead, without solid consistent pitching that's going to be hard to do. Unless Getz can get some help it figures to go down to the wire.

By the way, speaking of down to the wire, the Sox close the year with three at home vs. Colorado.

He’s better vs. lefties than Antonacci and Peters. They really need one of Hays/Periera to come back to help balance things out.

Hell yeah, man!

I think the offense explodes tonight for 6-8. This starter they have is young and got rocked his last outing. The key will be to make him throw strikes. I know Vargas will, need the other guys to give good AB as he will get skittish imo.

Bored out of my absolute mind at work. Feels like we haven't played in a week. Another 100 minutes.

Chase hitting cleanup?
