I was at Thurmon Munson's last game he played. It was at Comiskey.

From Merkin's story tonight:

Entering Tuesday, White Sox catchers ranked last in the Majors with a .512 OPS. They're a bottom 10 unit in terms of home runs (9), but they're also last in average (.166) and on-base percentage (.243), according to MLB research.

Steve Yeager batted .197 one year for the Dodgers.

Any catcher than can hit it seems like organizations want to move them out of that position.

A lot of people didn't appreciate just how valuable iron man AJ Pierzynski was.

Well that would put the time frame from around Labor Day to very, very late in September.

That's not bad. Decent chance to be back for the last 3-4 weeks of regular season.

History appears to be on your side.

Easy to see why he was gutted in this brief interview. Seems like the range is due to the level of the strain still yet to be determined.

Kyle Teel spoke before tonight's game and provided an update on his ankle injury:

At least an ankle injury is not as bad than an Achilles tear, which would have pulled him out for the season and more.

For a team that is so often wrong about injury recovery time and associated delays/setbacks, one would think they wouldn’t quickly readjust their initial timeline and just see what happens. Cuz like you both said, they are usually wrong. I mean, it’s almost like we saw the same player go through the same exact situation once this year already…

Yea, the team didn’t readjust the timeline, it was just Teel himself saying in an interview today that his evaluation today went well and was told it could be 5 to 8 weeks.
