Rangers would need to go 8-1 if White Sox just finish at 5-4

7-2 tiebreaker goes to Sox

same exact situation with TOR

up 1 on Cleveland, essentially

One of Texas or Toronto will be more or less knocked out by the end of the weekend as they play each other.

Can't believe Guardians get the A's at home this weekend. Going to be tough to stay tied or be in the lead after the next 3 games

That's the breaks of the schedule. Sometimes it isn't who you play but when you play them and how they are doing at the time.

I don't think the Red Sox are going to lie down when they play them.

A's were actually playing pretty decent until they ran into the Rays. They have a winning record in September.

I'm sure Cleveland fans are thinking the same with the Sox getting to host the Rockies to end the season

Both teams still have trips to KC so that evens out. For the other 6 remaining games I'd rather be the team that has all 6 at home being vs Detroit and Colorado instead of 3 at home vs the A's and 3 on the road in Fenway.

We need the A's to get at least one of those 3. Then Cleveland has to go to Boston for 3 where they are scheduled to face Sonny Gray and Ranger Suarez in 2 of those.

It would be nice if Boston had a shot at home field advantage for their wildcard series. But that seems really unlikely.
