Google AI Overview :

The appropriate fan grievance time for a traded player is 48 to 72 hours of shock, mourning, and venting online, followed by a transition to acceptance by their first game back.

Stages of Fan Grievance

  • The Initial 24 Hours: Shock, anger at the front office, and emotional social media posts.

  • Day 2 to 3: Acceptance of the business side of sports, wishing the player well, or analyzing the return package.

  • The Return Date: Polite applause or a standing ovation when the former player plays against their old team.

Some people will cry about a prospect for a long time. I just get pissed for a bit and move on because that’s all you can do, the trade is done

Yeah, much better to hear JR for the last 45+ years, minus an aberration. Am I right?

I’ll be honest…I’d have been way more mad if we dealt Bonemer or Carlson for Detmers for this deal.

That and no one is sure if he has a defensive position. His valuation is completely different as a catcher vs a left fielder, vs a DH. Though observing the change in tone towards his skill set now that he has been trade is always entertaining. Now people can be honest about his limitations.

This could all be for 2027 or even 2028 but I curious to see where Sox fans are projecting future lineups.

I think Bonemer, who just hit his 31st homer, is closer to the big leagues than Smith, what do you think Caleb's future role is with the White Sox?

If the Sox didn't trade Smith what position do you think he would play?

The overlap of their issues is very interesting.

I understand your perspective and know it's the right one to have but I still get pissed when I hear the name Jake Eder.....and I was very upset when they traded our future long term RF when Steele Walker was sent to Texas. 😎

Castillo is teetering on the brink. Pitching well once every 4 starts might get a guy released depending on the circumstances. My opinion is they could have made the trade with a lesser prospect. BTW Smith is still crushing

it.

Yeah they’re not eating that contract. I did say when they acquired him that it wouldn’t shock me if we start seeing “DFA Castillo” threads starting around May of next year.

Dominguez for Castillo was the trade. Seattle had been trying to dump Castillo for months. What is Getz trading for pitchers with 5+ERAs and sub .600 OPS for anyway? Getz really needs an experienced assistant to deal with these GMs; he's consistently overpaying for these waiver-wire talents that the other GMs are overtly trying to dump

You don’t come more experienced than Carlos Rodriguez and they also pretty sure they still have Gene Watson as well as Barfield.

That said, nobody would have predicted Mahle as the best pickup só far.

Holmes and Skubal, sure.

This is being optimistic at this point.

Watched some videos of Castillo from 2020. He’s really changed his mechanics. To me, he seems to be throwing too much drifting to the third base side. At times, he looks like a side armer. It’s crazy how much his tenure reminds me of Shields so far

Throws a lot sidearm and there's no deception and maybe little extension (haven't checked.) And when he does throw sideline seems like he leads with his elbow as if he's throwing inside out . He has to get on top of the ball otherwise his pitches will be flat and won't break.

He's going to have to reinvent himself in the offseason. Small silver lining but at least he was able to go 4 last night and not completely melt down in the first couple innings. That said, it was a miracle he did not, a lot of hard hit balls found a glove.

Trade looks awful right now is what it is, at least his team is picking him up.
