2020 is the team that I see. A bit ahead of schedule, and pitching running out of bullets quickly.

idk how you set up your post season roster with Teel in the mix. do you go with 3 catchers just in case he gets hurt again?

It's clear he has a great relationship with the staff. He's a solid defender. Quero's bat isn't good enough to compensate for the difference in defense between he and Romo. Catcher is one of those positions where teams are fine sacrificing defense for offense, which is clearly what the Sox are doing by grabbing Bart. Catcher is a hell of a lot more than just a bat, catching the ball, and throwing out baserunners. Pitch calling, feel for situational baseball, inspiring confidence in the pitching staff, ABS challenges, etc. By those measures, Romo is a much better catcher than Quero.

Teel is an exception because his bat does (errr did) exceed the cost of his defensive deficiencies.

Let me get this straight. The Sox acquire Bart for offense then keep Romo on the roster. Got it, oh wait, huh?

Just because they didn't want to DFA Romo? Seriously? Who would pick him up off waivers? Cleveland or Minni for intel?

I guess Romo will eventually be DFA'd when Teel is ready anyway then we'll see who claims him.

Hopefully Bart has a much better feel for the strike zone than any of our catchers for ABS.

True or not, I think I would have tried to dangle him last offseason. Granted, the playing time did open up with the Teel injury but he never capitalized on it.

Sounds like if you take the tweeter at face value, this is a message in a private chat with EQ in which case I find it to be not a remarkable thing for EQ to say (albeit not something you want public) and a weird violation of trust by some random guy on Twitter who presumably would have wanted to keep enjoying direct access to EQ. So I'd lean towards fake.

Agreed. If real, it's incredibly weird behavior to be close enough to the kid that he's venting his frustrations to you in DMs and then share that with the public when that clearly wasn't EQ's intention.
