8/5 GT - White Sox @ Red Sox (6:10pm CT)

Featured Replies

Speier hits Torres on purpose, gets tossed. Bazardo comes in and immediately gives up a 2 run homer. Just Mariner things.

I read that LAD just made Roki Sasaki use a bigger glove so it's more difficult to pick up on a tip. Let's send Davis out looking like this next start.

Take the PCA jerk off session somewhere else, please.

Maybe in a year or two if the Sox have a deeper starting lineup they can move him down a little in the order and take some of the pressure off.

You have to remember as well he's still a very young, raw, player learning the ropes. That takes time.

Agreed. I’m not trying to be a hater or saying he needs to go. Unfortunately, they need him now at least a slightly better version of him. It’s hard to watch him hit right now. Just hope he runs into one.

Seattle 4-2 over Detroit

Mize gave up eight for Padres in Shields/Peralta impersonation lol

Let’s see if we can’t steal one tomorrow. Either way let’s get the hell out of Boston…hopefully for the rest of the calendar year.

another tough lefty tomorrow. Would rather have Sam start, sit Colson tomorrow

Sam should start every game. He’s a grinder and makes things happen, regardless if a pitcher is a righty or lefty.

In all fairness, most of the AL is mediocre. Only the Red Sox with this incredible stretch they are having, are battling the Rays and Yankees for the East. The Rays and the Yankees, that we saw last week, were playing about the same as us.

Go out and sweep the Indians this weekend.

The Astros woke up and have gone 12-2 in their last 14. The AL wasn't going to stay broke all season.

Not sure how that is true when they are 7-3 in their last 10

The Cubs start PCA and Busch, both lefties, against all pitchers every game. Sam is no PCA but still one of our best players. Should start every game. You can always retract if it does not work out, which I doubt though.

They've been selectively bad. The overall numbers aren't that bad, but they've blown a lot of games.

And no Skubal now. They have thrown in the towel.

Detroit looks like a bigger threat

Would have been a bigger threat if they had kept Skubal.

Boston Smith has homered for the Arkansas Travelers.

But against minor league pitching.

You GOTTA drop Kolson down in the order, it should have been done 3-4 series ago. Until he either listens and adjusts, or swings his way out of whatever he is in, he can't hit in the lineup.

Certainly not cleanup. Will is stubborn reluctant to change.

Did Romo get pulled?

Hard for me to understand why Quero was sent down, and we keep Romo who is worse instead.

"Take, for example, every recent Dodgers team that has reached the World Series in a full season. The 2017 Dodgers went 12-17 in the month of September. The 2018 Dodgers had a losing record as late as June 6. The 2024 Dodgers lost five straight in May and had a losing record in July. Last year's Dodgers lost seven straight in July, and that wasn't even when their bullpen was in free fall.

That's what happens in a sport in which the best regular-season win percentage since the dead-ball era is 72.1% (the 1954 Cleveland team). Losses happen, and they can come in bunches. Yes, the Dodgers have some issues. No, they have not been Space Jam'd.

It might also be worth thinking about what a super-team is in baseball. The Dodgers' going back-to-back as champions in 2024 and 2025 is frequently treated as proof positive that a salary cap is needed to save a sport in which the richest team can dominate. Yet even those title-winning teams had such glaring issues (rotation depth in 2024, bullpen in 2025) that they each needed to win back-to-back elimination games at some point."

How about Mother Nature gets into the act with a rain out today. The Sox come back for a make-up up game after Boston cools down.

I'm not joking when I say I would rather try Antonnaci there. He's the emergency catcher and Romo playing is an emergency.

Awesome dodgers update at the end here lol

I would rather they tried Boston Smith and not trade him.

Damn, that's not an option anymore so might as well move forward instead of living in the past.

Relevant because both fanbases are in a panic...still with a 3-4 game division lead in Central despite 0-5 versus Boston, AZ and SD charging back in the West with two consecutive sweepstakes by Boston and the Cubs.
