2026, as great of a season as it has been, is still a developmental season. Quero clearly isn’t as far along as some of his teammates.

Agreed, but I think they want him gone. Teel should finally be healthy and they have another year of control on Bart. The Sox won’t be spending much money after the Castillo acquisition so I would put my money on Getz trading Quero for what he needs. This trade deadline was quite literally half of our 2027 offseason.

My guess the Sox keep him but in Charlotte as an insurance policy with Teel being injury prone. I’m actually hoping Teel isn’t injury prone but extremely unlucky.

The Sox have Bart, Q, Romo, and Teel under control. The only catcher I don't see wearing a Sox uniform is Lee.

With Q he still is a young guy that can be developed so I wouldn't get rid of him yet. Bart & Romo are backups.

Is Teel the guy? I always assumed so, but he can't stay on the field.

Sox have the off season to figure who stays and who goes.

Q has been on this roster to get everyday AB’s.

He was slated for Charlotte for everyday AB’s until Teel went down in the WBC. Then, everyday AB opportunities came up, so he got called up.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that he is back in Charlotte again. His development needs to happen in AAA, especially on the bat side.

After numerous demotions of Quero to the minors to "get some at-bats and work on things," I now wonder whether there was/is more to it. Consider that the Sox are in the final weeks of a pennant race during which time Getz acquired two veteran catchers and kept Romo as the back-up.

Anyway, I am just hoping to see Teel back before the end of the season.

I think of it less as “go down to AAA to work on things,” and more as “you can get big league AB’s for now.”

Like, he isn’t supposed to be playing in the big leagues yet, per his development.

Two weeks? More like two days

Are we going to use the expanded roster spot on a catcher? Seems like a waste to carry 3 when theyre a bad unit.
