Why would Martin throw at him twice when he got strike 1 after a challenge? Just poor logic.

I mentioned it around the deadline, but this has kind of a 2020/2012 vibe where the pitching was extended past where their talents and abilities were, and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of these guy

  • pitch chart of a guy who has absolute control of his fastball and would never miss way away from the zone unless he was sending a message

Okay, Fedde coming in. Who is the starter with Schultz and Sandlin both being demoted?

I’ve been saying they should give Martin more rest but not like this and last start haha

Rather have Fedde here than Martin, Davis has been garbage recently. Send his ass to AAA

Agreed, I don’t think it was intentional. He was throwing inside to righties last inning. I just don’t blame Stewart for being pissed.

Two things:

  1. Very clear that Davis wasn't trying to hit Sal. He's missed up and inside on upwards of half the pitches he's thrown in this game. Cannot possibly eject him for that.

  2. It's fine for Sal to be pissed off. Part of the deal with these things is if a guy is constantly missing in a place that is putting your livelihood in danger, you can be mad that the guy almost killed you even if he didn't mean to almost kill you. But of course that's no grounds for ejection.

If Davis said something in the scrum to get ejected, then okay. But I seriously doubt it.

Tossing Martin is just awful, it means the umps believed there to be intent. He just sucks, there's no way he wanted to hit Stewart. Stewart is also a little b**** for assuming Martin had intent when he was obviously shaky with his FB command.

More bullshit.

Sox are always getting hit by pitches and don't think I've seen one opposing pitcher tossed on the first one of a game.

We really need the rain to hit around the 5th or 6th inning.

Watching on gameday....did Will give Alan Porter any guff?

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have faith in Fedde here. He's been a rock the last month.

Yeah, it's not fun to get one on the helmet.

Not enough to get ejected.

He was talking to him intently with his fist over his mouth. Should have went harder and got kicked out

Yeah they thought he got tossed. But he didn't.

Is it gonna rain hard enough? Looked light when I checked earlier.

Neither is great but I feel better with Fedde right now anyway.

Unfortunate, and horrible to eject him there, but maybe a blessing in disguise for Davis, given the way things were trending for him.

Did they seriously eject Martin? Didn't see it. Was it actually intentional?

Btw anyone remember that assclown costing Buehrle the record for consecutive starts 6 inning pitched because he accidentally hit someone in the 6th inning? O5 I believe.

Martin’s next start would be at Wrigley. Please let wind be blowing in

Short leash for Martin please

Meant that for Venable not Porter, but ok.

This is why I made the poll . Our Soxtalk brothers seem to think it may be Thorpe. May just depend on who's turn it is when the Sox make the call. Wouldn't rule out Urquidy, Schultz , Sandlin or even Cannon.

What happens with Saturday’s start. I sort of thought it would be Fedde.

Be pretty wild to waste a possible challenge on a dude you were head hunting.
