Are we sure that Martin will be better with an opener? Yeah, he's giving up runs in the first, but he's giving up so many runs that the rest of his innings are basically low leverage.

Openers are usually to get a matchup advantage for pitchers who have lopsided platoon splits. Martin sucks against everyone right now.

What’s wild is we were like 4th in wRC+ against LHP earlier this season and then got rid of Hill, Pereira, & Hays (who admittedly hadn’t contributed much to that early season performance). One of those guys instead of Acuna would help quite a bit, but would obviously take away a late game pinch running weapon.

Sammy at 8 with Doyle at 5 is dumb dumb, I don't care which side of the box he hits from.
