Maybe the plan is to speedrun learning from yesterday by just replaying the same game but with better challenges this time

I'm so happy we punted last night's game for an opportunity that might not happen again in the series.

Just have to grapple with the fact that our starting pitching isn't good. This team has been fun and has a nice future, but we're not legit contenders with this staff.

Hagen Smith would have 50 strikeouts and 50 walks right now with a 7 ERA.

True, they actually acquired 4 starters due to their injuries — Peterson, Civale, Gausman, and Holmes. Civale is pitching in relief for them now but he was starting games for the A’s this season.

Vargas is all out of sorts...the key error/s yesterday didn't help his psyche but he's old enough now to learn he has to put it behind him.
