8/20 GT - Braves @ White Sox (1:10pm CT)

Featured Replies

Kay vs. Holmes. Feels like a very winnable game to me. Holmes isn’t very good and the Braves are mediocre against LHP. Braves also just got swept by the Twins and could be pressing a bit. I like our chances tomorrow if we get the good version of Kay.

Let’s fucking go!!

I'll be there. Time for this team to get hot.

  • I assume most offenses around the league are mostly feast or famine and we just don't see it because we aren't watching.

Holmes seems very hit and miss

0 runs against NYY and MIA then gives up 6 against the DBacks

Is this a game that is being resumed or one that is an outright makeup?

Bad news is that Taylor and Newcomb won’t be available. Good news is that Richards and Schweitzer will. Hopefully they score enough so the mop up guys can cover the last few innings.

I assume Hicks, Hudson, and Brazoban will be the three guys who can go at the back end tomorrow if we need it.

I don’t trust Brazoban at the moment. I’d like to see a low leverage appearance or two for him to get him back on track.

I think he will be fine, pitchers have tough stretches. But yeah I do expect to see him in the 6th or maybe 7th up three or four runs next time. We need him

Would love to see an Anthony Kay 8 IP 1 ER 9 hit special.

I’m confused. The dude hit 31 last year. 🤔

Can we please have our ABS challenges available for when these guys have to come in?

I’m talking to you, Antonacci.

LFG ! That is all.

That lineup looks pretty damn good outside of the #9 spot. Hopefully, Romo is coming around based on his last two games.

You know, there is a very real possibility that Kay could lead the Sox staff in wins by the end of the year.

Who saw that one coming early in the year? Especially the group who were complaining and hoping we could trade him for “something” / “anything” back in May or even into June.

I'm glad we have gotten something out of him, and I think this atmosphere has gotten him to step up in certain situations, but I think his peripherals suggest a regression.

I also get really worried about him making a postseason start if Martin has more problems - his record against >.500 teams is abysmal (2-4 5.87 ERA, .880+ OPS against)

That's a 6 run lineup at the very least today ! Holmes won't last 5 innings

Do wins even matter anymore? I thought we just cared about WAR

As long as he keeps them in games. Who cares if a reliever gets the win?

I'm old school and think Wins should matter more then wins do in todays MLB.

If you are credited with a win as a starter that means you pitched at least 5 innings and kept your team in the game.

On a Sox team that has gotten the fewest 5+ innings from SP than any other team yea, it's important going forward. Our bullpen has carried a heavy load the last month, time for the SP to step up beyond Burke. Kay has done his part, lets hope he can give us 5+ strong this afternoon. He's bent but not broken for the most part, and that's a good quality in a 4th/5th starter type.

Doyle has a bomb against Holmes. Was hoping to see him get a start today. Oh well - go get em boys and I hope Peters hits for the cycle! 😆

Need to have Kay, Burke, castillo consistently start going at least 6 innings to save this pen.
