Domínguez had a 3.99 ERA with the Sox. Brazoban has a 5.5 or so ERA. He was acquired to be a late inning guy.

I told you somebody would defend it.

  • If we happened to meet them in October, I'm more worried about the Yankees starting pitching to be honest.

Grichuk and Beni, the 2 old pros have been our unsung heroes with lots of clutch hitting.

We are facing a Mets pitcher in the 8 th with an ERA OVER 10 and three up three down…got to do better than that…

Never said they were vastly improved by any stretch. The original comment was they are a worse team because of the trades. They aren’t.

They are all negative WAR players with the Sox after tonight

I don't get it. Is it suddenly a bad move to dump Dominguez, who sucked here, and pick up a guy with a 2 something ERA just because Dominguez had a couple good outings and Brazoban has struggled?

No, and I liked the Brazoban trade when it was made. The problem is all these guys are performing horribly.

What the hell are you talking about? You said the cubs won the deadline. I accurately pointed out they’ve fallen further back in the division and you got very upset at that.

The Cubs are 11-7 since the trade deadline. That’s a .611 winning percentage. Over a full season, that would project to 99 wins.

I’m not upset at all but like I said, your takes absolutely suck.

This game felt like it was over once Robert hit his 2nd homer

What does that matter at this point? Things change. Your arguments don’t make much sense. @fathom literally proved you wrong and you come up with some nonsensical argument.

You’re right it doesn’t matter

Ok, but Brazoban had a 2.56 ERA before the trade.

At some point the players deserve some of the responsibility for being bad.

11 K's (and counting) against what is an absolutely terrible Mets pitching staff. Bravo

Face a guy with incredible spin tomorrow, in a week where they look like they haven’t seen a breaking ball in their life

Yes, that was the one trade everyone universally thought he nailed and then Brazoban gets here and blows worse than Seranthony.

Good thing we won last night, otherwise we could be fighting to not get swept tomorrow against their best pitcher with Fedde on the mound.

They won games because PCA and Bregman turned into Maris and Mantle. Zeferjahn has been terrible for them.

Back down to 3.5

We need to rattle off 5 in a row

Relievers are volatile. I assume Brazoban will right the ship soon or they'll bury him in the bullpen. I'm even fine picking up Doyle and seeing what he can do over the next year or two. The real issue is Castillo not giving them a chance in 3 of 4 starts. Offense scored enough to win tonight. Shouldn't have to put up 9 runs to have a shot.

Something I was wondering is how is Castillo expecting to be successful if he throws high sinker after high sinker? Definitely not the type of guy I remember from his Reds days.

This team never wins more then 5 or loses more then 4 all year.

Gotta at least make them use Senga tonight.

Cool. Not what my post said. I know you are angry they’ve blown some games, but maybe you should take your own advice and not care about other people’s opinions.

Also makes his changeup worse as that's usually down. Hitters recognize that and are able to adjust.

WELP, that'll do it.

Trust me, I don’t. 🤣

It takes guys time to adjust to new places. The trade deadline is a huge gamble anyways. You just hope your bet hits.

One of their worst played games of the year

You sure like showing up here to argue when a game isn’t going well, but yeah man totally.
