Yep, given the slumps for a lot of the guys we were hoping would be studs in the years to come, it would be hard to really judge the trajectory. Obviously it’s been an incredible year in terms of win improvement.

Davis would be a really good reliever if he figured out how to throw a better secondary pitch. A good splitter would really unlock him.

Here’s the big problem with the Doyle acquisition. Getz knew at the deadline this outfield SUCKS hitting LHP. Instead of finding someone that can be relied upon to not be mediocre against LHP, he got one of the worst hitters in all of baseball.

The pitching is behind but it’s not like they don’t have some interesting options moving forward. Also, do they let Taylor get a go at starting? I have faith they’ll find something among Burke, Thorpe, Schultz, McDougal, Smith, Taylor, Sandlin, S Smith, Oppor if they can’t get him straighten out. If not use the glut of middle infielders to trade for some.

I’ve said this before, but Taylor just doesn’t look like a starter to me. Leave him in this role, he’s so damn valuable. How about trading Braden and more for a starter and signing Seiya?

Well, Houston is a tough place to play and they still have a decent team.

That makes three of four against the White Sox and the lead is down to three games.

This division isn't close to being won yet.

The "big guns" are now hitting .217, .249, .214

That's not a recipe for success.
