  • Today could swing the standings in a significant way. Cleveland plays a double header with Detroit while the Sox have the Twins. Looking at the pitching match ups for this weekend gave me pause. Matt

  • He would have been better than TLR. That’s for sure.

  • Just a matter of time before Tigers completely choke away this game. Gonna have to take care of our own business at some point if we want to win the division. Might as well start tonight.

Don’t get swept has never been more true

It would be great because one win there adds an extra game to our lead

idk how Hinch has a job after this year

Lot of people were pining for him here after he was suspended. Now is our chance!

f*** the Tigers. f*** the Royals. f*** the Twins. f*** the Indians. We’re SWEEPING THE FUCKING CENTRAL!!!

( I just bought 10 Sox hats and 2 jackets so if they don’t win this fucking thing - I’ll be extra pissed. )

Just a reminder, the Sox aren't losing 90 this year, as many barked out in disgust this last off-season.

This crow isn't going to eat itself. Line starts to the right.

Lol you started out in low 70s for win predictions and then kept moving the bar upwards when Fegan went out on an optimistic limb with 78-84.

The majority of the board was at 67-73 in the predictions thread.

They probably end up at 84-85.

Does that make up for underperforming predictions badly in 2023 2024 2025 or having the very worst deadline of all the contending teams?

No matter what crow you're expecting, it's just as likely as you admitting Castillo or Doyle weren't good moves lol.

You’ll still be trying to convince everyone Luis Castillo is just one minor tweak or two away from 2019-24 form.

Also Houston is 1 1/2 games behind and Cleveland just 2 1/2 if you'll refer to the current standings.

And Castillo/Mune are still broken.

As things stand, they are unlikely to beat the 3/6 winner OR beat Houston as the 6 without either of those guys contributing.

Don’t worry. Once all of Getz’s great deadline trades pan out, the Sox will hit whatever win total WestEddy changes his prediction to.

Best @caulfield12 post of all time. Absolutely shredded. Not a fan of the deadline moves, but let’s hope everything goes well going forward. Someone get Castillo and Doyle some PED’s. 😶

WestEddy was arguing with me in the first few weeks of the 2024 season that I was being insufficiently positive. Enough said.

Really need to bring back WSI with WestEddy and friends as mods for only positive/supportive comments.

Not having two sides and a healthy/controlled environment for debate will kill any sports board off eventually.

I just wish Getz would have learned from his predecessors in Kenny and Hahn and all of their acquisitions trying to squeeze one last drop of performance out of players nearing retirement. Stop acquiring old fucks. It almost never works out. Admittedly, it did work with Grichuk with his extreme splits against lefties. However, baseball is a young man’s game.

Yeah, Peters and Hudson too.

Or the reverse with Brazoban. It’s a young man’s game.

Yep, Peters is only 26. Could be Getz’s best acquisition of all time.

Sandlin had 11 Ks in Charlotte tonight. He should replace Castillo.

If Castillo starts 5 more games, Sox will finish behind Cleveland.

Speaking of PED's, Chris Sale?

Didn’t see Stick but Chad Powers was awful.

If that is a master plan to get them both banned from baseball, I'm all for it.

Highly recommend people watching the YouTube video put out by a Tigers content person on how Hinch has ruined their season because of how he has used their bullpen.

No, I've always stated 75+, probably around 77-78, and it wouldn't surprise me if they finished better than .500. I was roundly mocked for all of that. Beyond that, I'm not sure what you're taking credit or blaming me for. LOL.
