Remember the talk about how a big part of their success was because the team was just too young and loose to feel pressure?

Long live the easy and convenient narrative!

I must have missed it, but was Vasil even in the dugout this week?

His wand must be in the shop for repair.

Did Ant slide by?

Doesn’t the pope sometimes carry a wand or staff type thing around? Maybe he went to get that. Might as well merge all the storylines at this point.

We don't deserve to win the AL Central. In 2005 it was about this time we were hearing the pitter patter of moccasins on our asses as the Indians closed in on us AGAIN! Hopefully we can fend them off

Nobody in the Al Central or AL West DESERVES to win a division title, but somebody's gotta lotto.

2005 was magical but yeah a good deal of September was extremely stressful

I never want to hear about Kefalonia ever again

Was in Colombia In July through November…that was the most relieved/excited for any “non in stadium” experience when Crede homered off Riske. Just felt like all the mounting pressure in the balloon evaporated with one swing.

Sox collapse is a total team effort. Reminds me of 1964 Phillies.

Personally unless they turn things around I'm think the Sox in 1967, 2003 and 2012. (Look it up)

Not the same. They never really were serious contenders come September. K.C. went on an insane run (like the Sox did in 1983)

The three years I mentioned they literally were a few weeks away (and in 1967 a week away) for going to the post season and they completely fell apart.

By the way I'll be curious to see how the Pirates do against the Cubs this weekend.

Cubs smart enough to pitch lefties against them.

Turns out Pirates aren’t world beaters. They’ve just been playing shitty teams during their hot streak 😂

Outside of the first game, the pitching wasn't the biggest problem with the losses.

You can do that by accident when 60% of your rotation is lefties.

Your point stands though. Would’ve been nice if the Sox mapped things out better to start Kay vs Pitt.

The Sox scored 5 runs in three games. Unless Kay was hitting dongs, it wouldn't have probably mattered.

The Cubs seemed to have no trouble against the "hard throwing" Pirate pitchers today.
