Every player should have a pitch com. Why would he do that when the pitch is a high fastball?

The final pitch was actually a sinker. If that was intentional, then that was stupid. It almost makes me wonder whether Grant is occasionally having bad releases on his fastballs that are making them look like sinkers.

I know it's easy to get upset at Sam, but he's not a natural LF, and he at the very least provides a professional at-bat. Half the lineup has been horrible in the 2nd half.

Pulling Doyle late in the game is fucking stupidity, too. His entire purpose here is defense. Instead, you have Sam in LF and he just sucks. Just inexcusable.

This game was ultimately lost with the predictably idiotic decision to go with Murphy to open.

They can fire Venable at any time.

Yeah pinch hitting for him there when you’re winning is dumb. Especially for a guy who isn’t good. He’s been fine for a rookie getting his feet wet and may be good eventually, but Braden is not good now. I’m fine with Grichuk being the primary RF rest of the way.
