With an 0-2 count to a hitter who already walked you off on a high fastball… if you’re throwing that pitch… it needs to be FUCKING WAY UP.

Tristian Peters, Sam Antonocci, Chase Meridoth, Randall Gritchik, Miguel Vargas and Kyle Teel. If you feel obligated to play Mune and Montgomery- that's fine. But they have to be at the bottom of the order. They have been horrible.

I don’t think he picks the opener but I may be wrong. I presume that is front office but that was clearly a mistake. Don’t know why - I knew I was going to get off my call and see bad news in 9th. These games have been tight all year and so many walk offs between both teams. Hopefully we can get it back and beat them tomorrow!

Which exactly why I’m saying if they’re calling that pitch then it needs to be a non competitive intentionally way out of the zone pitch where you’re looking for the batter to get himself out.

Agree to disagree. To me, anything out of the zone high at 101 is high enough. He popped it up. Can’t believe he even got a bat on it, but he popped it up. Sucks that the previous batter moved the runners, because if it’s man on first and second, Sam camps under that and catches it easily.

He got two off speed pitches on him to go up in the count...Rocchio was sitting on the fastball, throw a couple more off speed pitches, I bet he strikes out.

I'm okay with a strategic day off or two for Mune (tomorrow would be smart), but he has to play. The team is built around him. Teams do not perma-bench guys like that in the final two weeks of the season. You can move him down in the order, but we know that batting order is not that important so I would defer the decision on that to whatever I thought would be most likely to have a positive (or non-negative) effect on his mental approach. This is not some really good team that is only bad if Mune plays. You're playing the probabilities here and so much of the team's upside lives with Mune getting straightened out. So just do whatever maximizes the likelihood that Mune starts hitting.

He almost got the 0-1 pitch which was 101 up and out but was just under it. The funny part is Stone called for the next pitch to he face high fastball. Spoiler alert: it was not face high.

I'm not sure he was really sitting fastball on that last pitch. He put up a very defensive swing.
