Didn't even bother turning this game on after last night. Detroit is going to sweep these bums. Season was all smoke and mirrors. Another poorly managed, poorly coached team. Awful trade deadline made

Good stuff from Chase

Be shocked if he gets a fastball again unless its in his eyes in a 2 strike count.

Go for the cycle.

Does anyone else see this 3 way race for the team home run lead as problematic? Sure seems like all 3 have only one thing in mind, stepping into the box.

Grichuk had his pitch to hit

it has been like that all year, it is what the hitting coach and team wants them to do and it has cost us in the 2nd half of the season

Messick pitch count only at 44 thru 3. If we're not going to score off him, going to need to at least work counts. Tough to do vs a strike thrower like Messick. Peters showed the recipe by fouling off tough pitches. Too much swing and miss from the rest of the lineup.

That thought has not crossed my mind at all and I doubt it has for them, either.

Good pitching has always given the Sox fits this year. Bad pitching they crush, sure, but this entire season has a theme of not being able to handle good pitching. Not fighting enough. Not changing approaches against guys with good command. Then, you have 3 guys almost batting under .200 and one setting K records and another would be right along with him if not for a 6 week injury. I have a hard time believing the Sox want to be a boom or bust offense like this which would have ZERO chance in the playoffs against the best pitchers in the league. Shoman has got to go, and if someone else is telling Shoman to coach like this - they have to go.

To be fair, that's how most teams win. They beat up on 3,4,and 5's and try to steal ones against 1 and 2's.

Just have no idea who can pitch 3-4 innings in that bullpen today.

Newcomb and Hicks?

That already sounds scary.

Top flite starting pitching, great defense, and an offense that is able to manufacture runs.

What ever happened to keeping your eye on the ball til contact and taking the ball the other way? These Sox hitters are looking in the pull side bleachers on every swing.

Lately Ant, Meidroth are the only guys that go the other way on a consistent basis, sometimes Grichuk, Beni and Peters, Mune was earlier in the season.

Will be pleasantly surprised if it matters

5 strikeouts already? that tracks

I said this the other day, but the guys who should be pulling the ball more aren’t, and those that should use whole field are in pull mode. It’s just been a difficult watch last month or so.

4/36 now against lhp

Should have seen Vargas pull off a fastball over the plate, and then almost break his wrist on a fastball way up. You could see it coming a mile away

It worked for us earlier this year. Now they are bad against almost all pitching. The formula is fine if you can keep up, but with C/B Mont and Mune hitting the wall, its not working anymore because even bad pitching is exposing them.

nightmares of White Sox Cory Snyder

speaking of strikeouts

It’s not like they’ve gotten anything from the catcher spot, and Ant also hasn’t provided any power for a while. It all adds up to a massive slump.
