Yesterday at 03:14 PM1 day Funny how there are people arguing he has no trade value, while others are arguing how rare his profile is and why it has value."Keep him because he has value""Keep him because he has no value"He clearly has trade value. Trade him.

Yesterday at 03:36 PM1 day He will get trades and another organization will fix him like Andrew Vaughn

What's the point of having it then, let someone else with the resources to actually use it. The logical move is to wait and see on Colson for at least another year. He's 24 and has played 1.5 seasons of Major League Baseball. 2/3 of his time has been good, the last 1/3 has been terrible. There has been talk about his health, which could play a factor in his 2nd half performance, the Sox would know better than us. But as I mentioned a few days ago, the unfortunate thing is if you asked this group in July about Colson, everyone would have said he's one of the cornerstones for this team the next 3-4 seasons, at least. Now, that can't be said with any sort of confidence. None of us know who he is going to be. He could end the regular season with an OPS under .700. That's a LONG way from the .840 OPS he put up in 2025.

I will never forget on a forum in 2023 during the Crosstown Classic how Cub fans would take Robert over PCA.

He'll work on it.Wow what a bust to have a young player who hit over 30 HR and over 80 RBIs and plus a key position and has proven he can catch a baseball.

Yesterday at 04:53 PM1 day just to take some of the slack off colson here, if murakami didn't miss 6 weeks bc of injury, he would easily have over 270 strikeouts by now, nobody can argue that

Maybe he doesn’t get into that funk if he just kept playing

I want to see at least 1 more full season out of him before judging too much.
Yesterday at 05:42 PM1 day If we can be objective about this, Colson's struggles are greatly amplified by the fact that the Sox are going to the postseason. There's a lot on the line and him being in an extended sophomore slump is not helping at all and unfortunately turning many Sox fans against him, some even going so far to label him a bust.I say that if the Sox had the same record as last year, it would be a much more common mindset to give Colson next year to see if he is 2025/first-half 2026 Colson, or if 2nd half 2026 is the real Colson, or if the answer is somewhere in the middle.
Yesterday at 06:55 PM1 day I’m as down on Colson as anyone, especially with his stratospheric K rate and one dimensional power approach, but he’s 24. Look at Vargas’ age 24 season. We need to give him a chance to turn it around. If his age 25 season doesn’t show signs of improvement, we have depth.
Yesterday at 07:04 PM1 day There's an opportunity cost to keeping a black hole in the lineup hoping to improve.

Now that they have stopped doing that, he's completely lost and can't adjust his swing and easily fooled. And his best AA was .244 in 2023, and his best AAA were .214 in 2024 and .218 in 2025. He's clearly out of his league. He was at his best level in high A.

He could start by not swinging for the fences. There's a bigger cost in prematurely dumping young players.
