It's a totally different game without it. The mentality effect a 4 run lead has on both teams is huge.

  • Will be in attendance for this one, our tickets are behind home plate. Would love nothing more than to celebrate a sweep and watch all these loser Astros fans sulk home.

It’s OVAH! MERCY! On to Cleveland..many heroes today. Fedde was great closing, good to have had a veteran like him at the end, with no walks,, and Meidroth delivered the dagger with the Earl Weaver special 3 run homer. Will managed a great game for a change.

I don't remember that last time they won a playoff series. Was it 2005?

Venable saved his best for the playoffs. Well done

Pushed all the right buttons even when it got real scary at times. That 5th inning today flipped the momentum around.

I honestly didn't expect the Sox to get past Houston the way they played against them during the season. I always felt the Sox had a much better chance against Cleveland than Houston. Feeling very good about the upcoming series.

Guardians is an easy matchup and they're cold

Yup, on the same field too.

The experience these young guys are getting is going to be invaluable going forward next few years. Excited for the future.

Watched with my 24 year old son who is a huge Sox fan but was 3 in 2005. Finally got to see a series win. Let’s go boys

Now we gotta root for the Cubs for a potential Red Line world series

I like our chances if we can get some runs , and avoid a low scoring close game, and having to deal with Cade Smith.

What a great season! Venable managed his a** off in this series and the boys really showed out.

Yes

Kinda wish I drove 3 hours to Houston to watch a game. It just didn't work out real well for my work schedule. The tickets were probably cheap given how empty some of the stadium looked.

If it was destined to be Sox vs. Guards in the ALDS, I don't hate being the team coming in hot and confident rather than the one that's been sitting and cooling off.

Especially since Cleveland was red hot and playing way over their heads. Getting 5 days off might cool them off.

Yup, they never threatened after that, took their fight out

21 years ago, 2005 trophy can drink now!

The Sox were a defensive replacement from taking 2/3 at Cleveland in the midst of their hot streak

they basically have a whole lineup of guys that play just like Chase and Sam

Meidroth's homer sure took the starch out of Astros.

I think the Cubs are cooked tbh

We still got work to do in Cleveland.....but tonight we're popping.... LFG!!!!!!

Our biggest disadvantage was the lack of starting pitching depth.

That gets negated (or at least mitigated) in a short series. Give these couple of days for our bullpen arms to rest, and we'll be lethal.
