ALDS - Game 5 - Deciding Game - Sat 10/10 - 7PM Ct

65% of their outs the last 3 games were by strikeout. You basically give yourself no chance to win in the playoffs if you can't put the ball in play Today it was nearly 80% of their outs in a game that the pitching definitely did enough to win.

Guardians 2, White Sox 0: Buried by 21 strikeouts - Sox M...

In the end, the 2026 White Sox’s postseason lived and died like the 2026 regular season, with a surprising over-.500 record overshadowed by the Cleveland Guardians coming from behind to clip them. Ove

Hopefully they read this during their offseason: f*** you you chokers

They struck out NINETY-SIX TIMES IN 7 GAMES. They struck out 75 times in the ALDS. What the f*** are we talking about? This team has zero approach at the plate. None. It showed the entire second half of the season.

These hitters probably do have a lot of potential, but there's no chance it is realized with this s%*# organization.

The season was smoke and mirrors. A bunch of mediocre hitters have career years. They will be s%*# next season and I would put money on it. The only guy who I have any confidence in, is Vargas. He will be gone soon too because no chance Reinsdorf pays him.

After blowing the division and now the choke job against the Guardians I’d think the majority of player on the W.S. Would love to be traded especially the pitchers to a team with a manager who understangs pitching.

The approaches were bad. Anybody who says different wasnt watching. And swinging strike outs too. Just wild swings. I wonder how many Ks Mune and Colson would have combined for if Mune plays the whole season. That is not winning baseball. Actually this is problem in baseball right now. When you a guy like Chase hit only 15 homers and K almost 150 times that's a problem

There's no excuse for how many times they struck out the past 3 games, but I don't know why you're choosing to think that a 3 game sample trumps a 162 game sample. They didn't even lead baseball in K rate. But they led the AL in runs and walks. You don't just luck into that. If you choose to believe that they're going to somehow strikeout 37% of the time next year, then you do you.

You absolutely luck into that with a team most of the MLB hasn't seen. Once the league figured the White Sox out, what happened? I literally called every single pitch in the Mune bases loaded at bat, and he struck out anyway. The organization is fucking clueless, as usual.

The league adjusted to their hitters the second half and the results were pathetic. Especially down the stretch in games that mattered. Cleveland knew exactly how to attack every player on the White Sox and absolutely embarrassed them.

The excuse is that this organization fucking sucks. Let me be clear, I don't blame the players for this. I blame the White Sox. Cleveland pitchers WEREN'T EVEN THROWING STRIKES. The fact that these fucking guys just kept going up there embarrassing themselves swinging at absolute garbage is on the coaching staff. The Meidroth at bat was the defining moment of this series. Guy can't throw a strike and you strike out swigning at pitches a foot outside the zone???

The White Sox struck out 75 times this series. They probably could have walked 40 of those times just standing there. It was that bad.

If the Sox had five or six other guys who were all hitting like .260 - .280 and getting on base regularly having all the strike outs by Muni and Montgomery would be managable.

But they barely have any guys hitting .250.

Yea, that's a problem.

I have no clue what Murakami will get now on the open market but if it is 5 for 150 I'm pretty sure the Sox need to pass on that

He may not get another MLB contract in all honesty. I am glad the Sox didn't extend him.

Right because it's not magnified as much. I just looked at the stats Teel kd 51 times in 114 ABs. That's around 45% of his ABs . That's insane

People might say well Schwarber is a bunch too, sure but he kills the pitches that he's supposed to. Mune misses pitches down the middle

He was absolutely terrible this year

Yeah. If you strike out that much, you better be pushing 50 HR every year. Mune whiffed on at least a dozen middle cut fastballs this post season. He isn't it.

The funny thing is that a 45% strike out rate would have been awesome in these last 3 games compared to what we actually got

He fits a classic profile at first base. Strikeouts, power, and defense (if you’re lucky). Keeper.

He also walked 13% of the time. So his K rate was 35%, which is still way too high. That's a 10% rise from 2025. Hopefully a lot of that was just because he missed so much time with injuries and tried way too hard to make up for lost time.

I don't think he ever hits 30+ HR again. Yeah, he can crush balls if you make mistakes, but he has been getting blown away by anything 94+ anywhere in the zone for MONTHS now. Nobody is afraid of him.

Cleveland sure isn't afraid of him...they went around Vargas all series.

No, he’s not Mark McGuire or Tony Perez, but he’s not chopped liver. Should be a puzzle piece at a discount. We can’t have an all star at every position, and who is your replacement are items to consider.

Vargas to 1B. White Sox are loaded with infield prospects. Obviously you see what you have with Mune next season, but I would not be surprised to see him back in Japan by 2028.

At least we don’t have to watch Mune and Colson strike out three or four times a game anymore in 2026 or frazzle out over Venables grab-bag pitching parade choices.

I don’t necessarily mind that plan, but personally not a fan of right handed first baseman. And looks like they want Bonemer in the outfield

5 plays that killed the Sox and 5 managerial decisions that hurt:

1- Meidroth striking out in game 3

2- BMontgomery not catching double in game 4

3 - Mune striking out bases loaded game 5

4- BMontgomery striking out in game 4 with bases loaded

5- Vargas lining out in game 3 with bases loaded

Decisions:

1- going with Hudson in game 3

2- playing Benintendi in game 5

3- going to Kay in game 4 up 1

4- keeping Acuna on postseason roster

5- pulling Newcomb in game 3
