We made the ALDS and lost in game 5. You are all soft.

Once people get a chance to cool down, they'll realize how great this season was. This was probably one of the biggest surprise seasons in baseball history. Not just White Sox history, but baseball history. Yes this team has a lot of problems and that got exposed over the course of a 5 game series, but they did a ton right just to get to this point.

Boys, it’s do or die time tonight. I went into the home games feeling we had this series locked down, but for many reasons we failed to take advantage of a great opportunity. Attending the two home ga

Taylor needs to improve his slider or to add a sweeper/cutter

successful two pitch starters are quite unusual

outside of guys like Contreras Buehrle Johan Santana

I feel like it’s hard for a closer to experiment with a third pitch. I’m not convinced he can’t develop a third pitch or doesn’t have one that plays enough.

Disappointing but noone thought we'd go that far. Hell of a season. Getz failed the players with his horrible deadline acquisitions. Cleveland ironically killed us with theirs.

Its a surprise season because they've been historically bad for so long. That's nice, they won 84 games. I repeat myself, because they've been historically bad for so long. Not everybody wants to celebrate table scraps when it looks very possible theyre going backwards next season.

It’s worse than that. We have a GM that replaced previous GM’s that continued their strategy that they can still somehow catch magic in a bottle with old fucks — Castillo, Pham.

What happened to make them throw alot of pitches. The amount of swings outside the strike zone was unbelievable the last 3 games. How many potential walks turned into strikeouts?

Welp that sucked

Then don't.

And like - I hate they didn’t go for it at the deadline - but they DID save that powder and DID make the playoffs and DID sweep the wild card.

That is what many at the deadline would have been cool with. We have bonemer, and Carlson, and Roch. We had a 2 million year in attendance and doubled viewership on the sub service.

We have salary to spend and a team that actually got some good free agents the last two years from the bargain bin.

Teel in the 2-spot kind of always boggles my mind. I know he had a hit today but still

I'm not, thanks for letting me know though.

Aside from Vargas, felt like him and Peter’s were the most consistent at bats.

That’s the problem. It would have been ballsy, but Venable doesn’t have the balls to do it.

Venable managing also left a lot to be desired. The roster constructions, the obsession with splits, his managing of the pitchers, sticking out with ineffective players, not adjusting to in game situations, aversion for small ball when needed etc. Were lacking. IMO.

I'm gonna need minimum of a week to look passed being pissed off about this choke job. I hope that's ok?

Yup. Just wish they didn’t lose to CLEVELAND. That’s what’s really bumming me out right now. If it was Tampa or the Yankees it wouldn’t be nearly so annoying.

This team has very clear needs.

They need to add more starters (and a closer), and they need to add more contact/improve in RISP.

I would love to see Vargas and Burke extended TODAY

Kudos to the press, someone asked Will if he would have pinch hit Grichuk for Mune in the bases loaded spot. Will said zero chance

I don't come to a playoff ending gamethread for optimism....what is this?? 😎

Coming out of the season with a pretty solid positional player core in Teel, Droth, Vargs, Ant-man and Peters. Colson, Braden and Mune need a new approach. Nice bullpen, and they have about 10 starters to work with behind Burke.

Sucks they lost like this. It could be a great building block.

You are correct sir, excellent point about the core and potential starters.

Cmon man, ok your right in a sense but everyone was different ways of expressing themselves about it.

I like Meidroth in the 2-spot even against a righty

I think this is exactly where I'm at with it as well. The Montgomery boys and Mune HAVE to work on some stuff concerning plate approach and situational hitting. Bullpen pieces, some are really good. Starting pitching....LOTS of work to do there from internally and/or externally.

And for the love of all that is holy, coerce Benintendi to enjoy retirement or something, somehow.
