What a terrible, terrible deal. It's one thing to give up minor league prospects, but to give away your catcher of the future when you have no one in the minors to replace him is just f***ing stupid. I thougth this was a joke when I first heard it.

I like the deal. Garcia will be a much needed addition and I have faith that Burke and Sandy will do fine splitting games. As far as Reed goes...I guess we'll have to wait and see if that bites us in the rear.

Gotta go for it now, IMO.

This Trade is true. Just saw it on Sportscenter.

While Olivo is a very good player, we can live without him. Burke and Alomar will be enough for us this season . Garcia will fill out biggest need and hopefully win us this division! Reed may never pan out in the majors and it is better to get proven talent in return.

Kenny said that Freddy's best friend (ozzie) said that we have a good shot to resign to a long term deal. If we do, then it's a good trade, he's an Ace pitcher and an Ace pitcher is better than Miguel Olivo.

Exactly

What the hell, we must have "Had" to give up Olivo to get him b/c the Yanks and the Red Sox were getting into it as well. Damnit man I love Miguel, I never, ever, expected him to get traded..DAMNIT

NOO!!! Olivo is my guy! And Reed? I thought he was gona be our super OF of the future? Damnit!!

Whadja pay?? :puke :puke :puke

I'm all about "going for it". We recognized our holes and it sounds like KW is trying to fill them (SP (Ortiz?, Garcia), CF (Jones?), BP). Problem is that you can't make new holes to fill existing holes, you can't move a brick from the left side of the dam to fill a hole on the right side of the dam, that sumb**** is still gonna leak.

What the hell? Until the White Sox confirm this, I choose not to listen to the media.

Damn, I got to do alot of changing..

I don't mind losing Reed...

....But Olivo... :crying

How good has Ben Davis been this year and who the hell is Micheal Morse?? or whatever his name is.

Totally agree. I don't understand why everyone is down on this trade. We have a history of hanging on to minor leaguers until they suck, so I have no problem with parting with Reed. As far as MO is concerned...it's not like we are giving up Johnny Estrada for cryin' out loud.

What the hell? Until the White Sox confirm this, I choose not to listen to the media.

Its breaking news on ESPN.

I'm going to do alittle.. :puke and :crying and more :crying

i hate to lose to Miguel Olivo

but we needed the arm.

up to Kenny to find another catcher 'cause I'm not sure Jamie Burke is the answer.

Miguel shuts down the running game.

We couldn't give em Borchard? Geez come on Kenny.

If we do not resign garcia this is gonna be a a bad trade i feel. Olivo is gonna be a top cathcer within a year two at the most.

We better be getting f***ing Victor Martinez, Johnny Estrada or something. Ben Davis.. :puke

Without Reed there's still Ryan Sweeney and Brian Anderson to look forward too. But without Olive there's no up-and-coming catcher in the Sox system. Same for Morse, whom I feel was the best shortstop in the minors for the Sox. Burke and Alomar will get the job done behind the plate this year, and Freddy Garcia will anchor their rotation and possibly provide more stability for MB and Esteban. It's upsetting to see such quality young players leave, but on the other hand the Sox greatest need is being filled.

To those upset about Olivo: Giving up our young catcher Olivo was the only way we were going to get Garcia. New York was offering their catching stud Navarro, and Olivo was our only good young catcher hat could rival him.

I'm not that big on Reed, but I hate losing MO. He's really come into his own this year. It's really a bittersweet deal. I'm excited, but then I'm not.
