I believe you, but do you got an article link to where they said it?  Because, I'm not suggesting the Sox pick up the whole contract.  They've picked up a big portion of the salary before, with Walker and Hampton, no reason to think they won't do it again -- IMO.

As much as we've bashed them, good job by our 8-9 guys this inning.

This inning was all made by Crede's sac fly, with getting one in and one over. He gets ripped a lot, but he deserves his dap when he does something good.

Yes, I heard some of the same stuff in Tucson. As bad as the Rockies are, they love Helton, he's the face of their franchise. They'd have to be bowled over and blown away to trade him and at least for now I also heard they do not want to pick up any of his salary, they've taken a lot of heat for doing that.

He's really having a rough time at the plate in terms of making solid contact. His bat seems to be dragging through the zone big time.

Look they actually did something smart. They are going with the pitches instead of just pulling everything. If they keep this up Chan Ho will start to go in and then they can pull the f***ing thing for power.

Well, Delgado was a FA after the season, so there was no worry about his contract.  As for Walker....the Rockies were willing to pick up a huge portion of his salary in a trade.  The Rockies have already said they won't pick up any of Helton's contract if he's traded.

Yep, it's one thing to trade Walker and Hampton. But Helton is easily the best player in franchise history, and they'd piss off their fans if they gave another team money to take him off their hands.
