You got that right. This is moment of truth time. We're gonna definitely find out in the next few weeks what this team is all about.

Well, the naysayers ( a group I've been teetering on joining ) have said all year that the Sox are only where they are because of their divisional record.

The Sox play the AL Central almost exclusively from now on, so if they keep that trend alive, the Central crown will be theirs.

I hope Jose is up to the challenge tonight. Obviously, every game from this point on is huge. But I think it's very important for the psyche of the team to get off to a good start this month. Hopefully Jose can have a 03 like September.

I'd like to see the sox go back to that early summer philosophy where all we heard was that they're only focused on the game today.

 

Stop thinking about the playoffs.

Stop thinking about August.

Don't think about winning this series against Detroit.

27 of 31 games are against their own division.

Just to put things in perspective: If the Sox go 16-15 this month, Cleveland will have to go 23-6 just to take the division. This after going 19-8 in August.

 

I haven't been the most optimistic person here, especially in the game threads, but I expect good things this month.

 

Hopefully Jose breaks the recent trends of poor starting pitching and continues his dominance.

Just start hitting. Thats all that needs to happen. The pitching and defense will be fine. They just need to hit and score runs. It takes pressure off of a pitching staff that has earned us this record. Line drives and singles, stringing hits together, getting on base. These things will help prepare us for the playoffs.
