I didnt even phrase that last post with (much)sarcasm. I was honestly curious why you kept saying it was a bad move without saying why. Tell me what the big difference is? Rock isnt coaching guys up on how to steal bases during games. He does that in workouts with players, his in-game job isnt as much strategy and observation at 1st base. if he ever has aspirations of becoming a manager as speculated, he is going to have to sit next to the coach sometimes during the game and learn the managers game from there. I dont think this is as big of a deal as some posters are making it out to be. When you switch a 3rd base coach, then you notice a difference. "When we are hitting, Tim Raines is at first base and doesn't have time to communicate with players during the game," Guillen said. "That's why I moved him over there. "I think Harold wants to be on the field. I think Harold should be on the field." Baines was a frequent contributor strategically as bench coach in 2005, according to Guillen. But Guillen feels he will be just as valuable at first base. "Harold helped me win a world championship, and I think he will help me again to win a world championship," Guillen said.
