This should be Vazquez's last batter of the game.

He needs to go 5 so he can be eligible for the win. Ozzie wants his starters to be winners.

Nicely done...um....somehow...Javy.

Take a rest.

Well done Javy! There's not a chance in hell he should start the 6th inning.

Vazquez will come out to start the next inning sadly.

Javy comes out and blows away Posada on 4 pitches to start the 5th. Go figure.

Mark Teahen had an RBI double and scored the tying run during that rally in the 8th KC had to beat Boston. Good to know we aren't the only team he batters into submission.

He has been hitting the ball well ever since being re-called up. Next season if they call up both their top hitting prospects and if Sweeney ever stays healthy they can be a pretty tough lineup. Gordon I think is the type of talent that contributes right away and the other guy cant remember his name sucks on defense but rocks with the bat.

Chances that Javy starts the 6th?

Pretty damn good. HE NEEDS THE WIN!!!!!!

HOORAY!! It's an official game.

Now hopefully, some bizarre mystery storm pops up and they have to call the game a win for us before the Yankees can bat.

And LOL at Hawk "we're halfway home already!"

When Javier's out there, aren't we all winners?

Yes, but every manager in baseball would have let him start that inning.

haha, hawk is all pissy cause the game is going late

Yeah.

I'm waiting for him to toss down his mic and say 'f*** this game.'

Not sure what they will do with Teahen when Gordon is ready.

It's too bad for them they didn't agree to the Sweeney for Rios trade. The other prospect you're thinking of is Butler.

Do you blame him? I'm tired too, stupid EST :(

I've heard Gordon to right field.

Javy:

111 pitches, 5 IP, 6 hits, 2 runs, 6 walks, 8 k's.

Greg Maddux-like efficiency tonight.

It really is a carbon copy of the Indians start you mentioned.

Is it possible that Vazquez pitches with such weird "rhythm" that our offense is out of sync, too?

he knows that there's rain delays in baseball. no need to whine all game about it

I went to a game against Texas on a Saturday night earlier this year that was exactly like these 2 starts, only he gave up 5 runs I believe. We ended up having an 8 run inning though in the 3rd or 4th or something and won it 8-6 for him.

That was back when Coop was saying not to worry about how he was winning -- the results were all that mattered.

I loooooove sellouts.

Why?

Javier Vazquez takes the air out of every game.
