August 13, 200619 yr right now we're 6.5 games behind Detroit and 2 ahead of Boston the in WC Don't get me wrong, I'd love to win the division, but does anyone think our chance of the WC over a Boston team that we're already ahead of and has both a questionable pitching staff and hitting outside of 3-4 much better than gaining and keeping the lead and the central. Right now, Boston losing three to Detroit and us winning 4 against KC puts us 5.5 ahead of them!! Whereas three Detroit losses and 4 wins by us, still has us at best 2 games behind Detroit, assuming we even win today. Might be defeatest thinking, but time is short.....
August 13, 200619 yr Neither. Let them trade wins while the Sox streak, and the Sox gain on both. The Sox can take care of their own business vs. Detroit later.
August 13, 200619 yr I think a lot depends on today's game. A win today and you still have a shot at the division. A loss and it really is a longshot. I know its "only" a 2 game swing, but I still think that is how it is.
August 13, 200619 yr QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) Just root for the whitesox. ...if they don't win it's a shame....
August 13, 200619 yr QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) Just root for the whitesox. They need to take care of business first. THIS IS HOW I FEEL
August 13, 200619 yr QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) Neither. Let them trade wins while the Sox streak, and the Sox gain on both. The Sox can take care of their own business vs. Detroit later. :yeahthat:
August 13, 200619 yr i thinnk there was alot more confliction when we were down 8 or 9 games to detriot after minny had just swept us and then they played each other...minny had just tied us in the standings mind you.
August 13, 200619 yr I hope Boston takes 2 of 3. That way the Sox can maintain their lead on the Sawks while gaining on the Tigers.
August 13, 200619 yr what ever happens happens. as long as we keep winning, things will take care of themselves.
August 13, 200619 yr Whatever happens happens in that series, I just want the Sox to go out and work on playing good baseball each and every day. We do that and we should be just fine.
August 13, 200619 yr As long as we take care of business against KC, it's a no lose situation for us.
August 13, 200619 yr I'm just worrying about the Sox right now. The Sox can't control how the Red Sox or Tigers do unless they play them.
August 13, 200619 yr Like it's been said, root for the Sox...if they don't win, it doesn't matter wtf Boston or Detroit do. That said, I agree with fathom in hoping for a sweep. I'd prefer it be Boston, but either way, a sweep either gives you two close races, or a pretty sizeable lead(unless of course Minnesota sweeps whoever the hell they're playing) along with another overcomeable deficit.
August 13, 200619 yr If the first 2 games of this series had gone the other way, I'd be rooting for Detroit. But until we're out of the division, every Detroit loss brings up a half game closer. I hope the Carmines sweep them.
August 13, 200619 yr I know one thing...I'd rather be going head to head for the division than the wild card, cause we may have that as a fall back plan. Not to mention we have a bit more control over the division (since we still have a few more games vs the Tigers) than we would in the wild card race.
August 13, 200619 yr GO BOSTON GO THIS DIVSION IS OURS LETS GO AND GET IT the wild card can be our saftey net, we are reigning champions, we cant let the pussy cats come taking s*** from our refridgerator
August 13, 200619 yr If we take care of buisness and beat the fishing Royals, we gain ground on somebody everyday, which is good news.
August 13, 200619 yr This is a no-lose situation if we take care of our own business. I'll be cheering for the Red Sox. I want the division.
