Don Shula is intimating that should the Patriots win the Superbowl and go undefeated, Spygate should put an asterisk next to the record.

Well then the Dolphins should get an asterisk for only playing 17 games and never having to go up against the West Coast offense.

Larry Johnson maybe out for the year with a broken bone in his foot. Yikes.

I called it. I'll never forget the replay when A.J. Hawk rolled over his foot/ankle. Man it looked bad. Like I said, I would have been in utter shock if he just suffered a sprain.

Foot sprain likely to shelve Johnson for Broncos game

The problem with the Bears is that they haven't had an impact 1st rounder in awhile.

Sure, they get 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounders to be capable starters, but no real Pro Bowlers (Briggs and Brown maybe).

I'll be fair and go back only 10 years:

1997 - No #1 pick

1998 - Curtis (P)Enis

1999 - Cade McC(l)own

2000 - Brian Urlacher

2001 - David Terrell

2002 - Marc Columbo

2003 - Michael Haynes, Rex Grossman

2004 - Tommie Harris

2005 - Cedric Benson

2006 - No #1 pick

2007 - Greg Olsen

The guys in bold are Pro Bowlers

Two in ten years of drafting #1 picks is pretty sad.

"Briggs and Brown maybe"? Maybe???

It's obviously unfair to include Olsen in that already. He's playing very well, anyway. And the problem's not in not getting Pro Bowl players. Decent starters are okay in the first round. Humongous busts aren't. Most of those guys who weren't Pro Bowlers couldn't even stick around the league. Columbo's the exception, but that was just rotten injury luck for us.

I predict Cedric Benson has a big game today. Laugh at me later.

If we calibrate the term big into Benson stats.... I expect him to go for 25-100 for a TD and few dropped passes. That would be a big day for Cedric.

Looks like Adrian Peterson just had his knee blown up

He was standing on the sidelines, but wasnt moving much. Peterson took a helmet to his knee, and considering his history of injury problems.... it didnt look good.
