C'mon Mark, get out of this and we'll have the momentum.

Gordon grounds to Getz. Can't turn the DP, run scores, 2-1 K.C. 2 outs.

nice pick by Getz

That play was definitely something Crede wasnt so good at.

Overall Joe's heyday will still be superior defensively but Fields has the athleticism over him, evident on plays like that one.

that sucks. buehrle got the ball he needed.

just want to say that Crede doesn't make the play that Fields does

Big out here Mark.

the ball was just one step too far to the right.

Olivo K's swinging. Inning. 2-1 Royals to end the 5th.

another good job to get out of the inning, great defense

Nice way to work out of it by MB. Too bad he had put himself into that hole...

2-1 KC halfway home.

wow. only 1 run outta that mess. Mark done for today?

Any other offense and they score 5-6 on Mark today.

Lets get some runs! :gosoxretro:

Mark showing the stones

97 pitches for Buehrles through 5. Between a tight strike zone and not having his good stuff, 2 runs over 5 innings is hard to complain about. Not sure if we'll see Mark in the 6th, probably entirely up to him.

Buehrle getting warmed up. Lets hope he has 4 more innings in him

Bottom of KC's order has been swinging wildly at the high fastball

Whatever happens from here on out..........you can't blame Buehrle, 5 innings 2 runs. Not bad IMO.

All things considering only giving up 1 run there is a success, woulda been sweet if we were able to turn the double play though. Defense looked pretty good that inning.

I'd let MB start the inning, but Richard or DJ should be warming up in the pen right now also.

Any sign of trouble, get him out of there.

Well, Buehrle battled his butt off. We now shall see how good our "second tier" relievers are in the heat of a close game.

Very encouraging defense today...Josh had a ball go by him because he was protecting against an Olivo bunt, but that "jump pass" might end up being the key out of the game if the White Sox can come back and win.

The teams have traded numerous opportunities back and forth, with neither team getting an clutch hits to create some breathing room.

Getz and Ramirez are looking like a promising keystone combo.

KC wears Mark out from time to time, so 2ER in 5 ain't all that bad.

is a "quality start" 5 or 6 innings of 3 runs or less?
