Damn. Love it for the Cavs and Wolves. I know the prize for the Pistons is dumping Rip.

the espn article says that Chicago would be Rips likely destination

What was the buyout for Rip? I don't see this anywhere.

Edit. I'm stupid. Espn.

Holy f***! Rip had two years left on his deal? I thought it was just one. Cavs really want Williams.

And let me edit once again. I forgot they have the trade exception. Makes it look considerably less worse.

How epic would it be if Cleveland somehow snuck into the playoffs next year, and managed to knock off Miami in the 1st round?

Chances of that happening slim to none, but still it would be epic.

Its a win-win for the Cavs and Wolves.

Kanter is just what the Wolves need, and Irving-Williams is what the Cavs need.

Irving-Williams-Hickson isn't a bad core to build with.

Especially in the east.

Oh, and I must say I also listened to Scottie's initial interview on Jordan/LeBron. I had only read his recant on Ball Don't Lie. I can see the outrage now. Listen, Scottie has ALWAYS been jealous of MJ. This is no secret. And you can't really blame him. Scottie Pippen is synonymous with the word 'sidekick.' Who the hell wants to be known for that? I can recall Scottie saying multiple times that Kobe was a better player. Then when he came to his senses, he backpedaled. No different than what happened here. Pippen doesn't believe that for s***.

is that official?

No.

The Pistons are trying to play hardball and demand a player back, due to the impending lockout.

Id gladly take Rip on the bulls for next to nothing, dont want to pay for him though

He's a backup at this point, though. 2004 was a long time ago. He's never had great range. Doesn't offer defense or any playmaking ability. Not a good fit as a starter on this team.

He better be coming off the bench. This team needs something more than an old Rip Hamilton.

If we find someone else than fine but old or not the guy still averaged 14 points a game last year while shooting 38 percent from 3. If he's healthy he'd be a fine fit for this team.

You guys are crazy.

i think if you put Rip on a contending team you would a Rip that is much closer to 2004 than to 2011. He hated his coach and had a really bad team around him. I think you could see a rebirth similar to Ray Allen to the Celtics if he is on the Bulls. That being said, I would look at it as a secondary option, and look younger.

Are you thinking of the right Ray Allen? He was pretty goddamn good for Seattle before heading to Boston: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/allenra02.html

i am, he was good there but he wasnt committed on the defensive end until he got to boston. imo he became a much more complete player in boston, and it has made him look like a much better player in boston. he always could shoot, he had a few injury problems in seattle though

Kyyle, have you seen Rip the last three years? He's giraffe manure...as a starter. If he's playing 30+ minutes a game then we're in trouble. There is no comparison between 2007 Ray Allen and this current version of Rip. The Pistons are trying to banish him away for a reason. And they'll give up their pick to do it.

He is still bad defensively, but at least he's passable in their scheme. (though you can thank that to Thibs when he was there)

No, stars are allowed 4 steps and superstars are allowed 5. That's a perfectly legal play.

The officials are such a joke. The league really needs to just get rid of them and start over, because as long as the current batch is there, the aura of fix, cheating, and ineptitude will always be there. Although, I really think that'll be the case until David Stern is gone as commish too. He's the one that oversees these refs, and the fixed draft lotteries.
