September 15, 201114 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 11:38 PM) Way to go out on a limb I know. Not much of a revelation. But I'm talkin' 09 Mauer type s***. He won't hit .350. Other than that, he's on the cusp. And with his defense being where it's at now? You''re talkin' one potentially special player.
September 15, 201114 yr My friend and co-worker grew up with and went to school with Desmond Jennings, who's from the Birmingham metro area. My friend said he is dumber than a bag of hammers and that teachers fixed his grades for him. He was also a football player who passed up a scholarship to Alabama to play baseball.
September 15, 201114 yr I love it when a baseball game being broadcast by ESPN goes into extra innings. It must kill them not to be able to talk about how wonderful Tom Brady is.

And with his defense being where it's at now? You''re talkin' one potentially special player. I would hope so. Dude was a top 5 pick just 4 years ago (should of been top 3), was very highly touted comming out of Georgia Tech (scouts compared him to Joe Mauer with power) destroyed minor league pitching, and so far, hasn't been that great in the bigs like he is capable of. He still has time though and yes.. I still follow up on him since I was a big fan of his.
September 15, 201114 yr Kershaw's ejection last night was a joke but it was awesome to hear HOLY MACKERAL from Vin Scully.

I know a high school right in Chicago that was (probably still is) incredibly corrupt when it comes to grading for athletes. The funny thing is that they are mediocre at every major sport and have been for years. I know of at least one incident that would actually likely end with people in jail if it were to get out.

September 15, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 09:46 AM) Hmm, sounds like someone who might be starting for the Bulls... While I'm sure he received that treatment, I wasn't referring to him or his school. Like I said, this school isn't even good in athletics. For some reason, they treat their athletes like VIP's even though they are consistently mediocre.
September 16, 201114 yr LoMo filed a grievance against the Marlins for sending him down earlier this season. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/l...iles-grievance/ The odds of the Sox getting LoMo in a trade just went up a bit more.

September 18, 201114 yr Bobby Jenks tells Michael Vega of the Boston Globe that he's disappointed the first season of his two-year deal with the Red Sox turned out so poorly. He's optimistic about being ready for Spring Training and being able to contribute in 2012 though. The reliever says that although he hasn't undergone his spine surgery yet, the doctors are talking about "weeks and not months" for the recovery. Big Bobby had season ending back surgery AND a pulmonary embolism. Tough first season in Bah ston
