January 6, 201214 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 08:47 AM) CSN is calling this a "bogus rumor" http://www.csnchicago.com/blog/whitesox-ta...rce=twitterfeed That guy has any many sources as the Twitter guy. Like none.
January 6, 201214 yr Reasons why this could easily be mistaken and thus bogus, all hypothetical I recall and some things can be hazy for me, that there was a nice story that I read on Soxtalk a few weeks back about the Floyd's helping out a church member. I do not recall the specifics and I am lazy and am not certain how to copy things to look back but I thought it gave some pretty specific details on the Floyd's personal life (i.e. home town, names, church they attend). It also could be bogus as AA and KW have made three trades and the Sox picked up a scout from Tor so there is a good amount of communication between the two. KW probably talked about every scenario of every player in the Sox organization in that time, Gavin I am certain was one player they discussed. In these myriad of discussions something about Floyd leaked out and just now has filtered down to someone. Maybe a scrap of paper or some Christmas banter. Who know but it made for an interesting day.
January 6, 201214 yr Brad Rogers @brBoiler2013 1h Jokes on you, f***ers. Y'all got an extra chromosome. 7:48 AM - 6 Jan 12 via Twitter for iPhone · Details Wow, what a douchebag.
January 6, 201214 yr QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 09:46 AM) Wow, what a douchebag. If you look at his profile pic, you could put it next to the definition of drunken idiot frat boy in the dictionary.
January 6, 201214 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 07:47 AM) First of all, anybody can spend 30 seconds on Google and find out the name of Gavin's wife and where they live. Secondly, if the actual player being traded is this guy's ultimate source, I don't buy for a second that he knows all of the details of the trade, such as the names of the minor leaguers involved and whether or not there is cash involved. That's how a team source might spell out a trade to somebody like Heyman or Rosenthal (or k0na), but I doubt that's how KW spells it out when he calls the actual player. Now, there may very well be a Floyd to Toronto trade in the works, but I don't buy this Purdue guy's story one bit. Her name is spelled Leanna, doubt they actually know her or the sox business. I'll believe it when a real source comes forward. Reading that mess of tweets, I don't think he was ever referring to the trade when he did the "joke's on you" tweet. I think he was referring to the person he said had "down syndrome". I think he has consistently said the trade is happening. Now I am not saying it is true, but I don't think he has flipped sides.

January 6, 201214 yr QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:48 PM) Could be, sorry didn't mean to confuse anyone. No worries. I'm honestly trying to understand it myself. Twitter is a mess like that.

January 6, 201214 yr Yes, the Blue Jays inquired about the availability of Mariners ace Felix Hernandez, but that isn’t really news. Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos routinely asks about the best players on every team. He almost always is told no. “Alex is always looking for everything,” a rival GM told me earlier this off-season. “He is the only GM in the league with a 60-man roster – and I say that as a compliment. You can’t pin him down. He has interest in every one of your players.” Another GM with a philosophy similar to Anthopoulos’ once told me, “You can link me to every player. I ask about them all.” Context, though, is critical. Most inquiries do not lead to trades. Hernandez is a case in point. Barring a dramatic shift, the Jays will not be getting King Felix. Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik gave Anthopoulos his standard reply on Hernandez – “we’re not trading him” - and the discussion ended there, major-league sources say. Given the Jays’ desire to add a No. 2 starter or better, it’s no surprise that Anthopoulos asked on Hernandez. Nor should it be a surprise that, according to sources, the GM has asked on Mariners righty Michael Pineda, White Sox righty Gavin Floyd and every other pitcher imaginable. Rumors swirl constantly around the Jays, in part because Anthopoulos is so active, in part because he does not confirm or deny media inquiries. Yet, virtually all of the Jays’ player moves under Anthopoulos have occurred without prior media speculation. He tends to operate quietly and strike quickly. Anthopoulos' aggressive approach led to the acquisition of one player who was thought to be unavailable this off-season – White Sox closer Sergio Santos. Who knows? It may lead to similar acquisitions – maybe even one for Hernandez – in the future. http://mlbbuzz.yardbarker.com/blog/mlbbuzz...8?new_post=true Rosenthal says AA has inquired about Gavin, but the article basically says he asks about everyone.
