June 24, 201213 yr I liked Lilli. Will miss his outfield play. He never got a chance this year. Good luck stealth elf and Stewart,

June 24, 201213 yr Holy s***, White Sox get Youk for Stewart's busted ass and Lillyflower. Perfect!!!!
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN The Red Sox are eating all but $2 million of the money owed to Youkilis for the rest of the season. That's what I said in the game thread. Stewart , Lili and $6M picked up.
June 24, 201213 yr Yeah Lilli is a p decent return for the Red Sox. Stewart is just depth, they DFA'd a better pitcher earlier this year.

Well we don't have to pay ZS and BL anymore. Thus payroll should only go up And the lineup is going to change. Where does u-kill-it usually bat. not ninth?

June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:39 PM) SO EXCITED to see Youk in this lineup. Where do you guy put him? After Aj? With the way he's hitting, you'd have to hit him either 7th or 8th. An interesting thought would be to hit him second. He's got the on base skills to thrive in that role.

June 24, 201213 yr Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Cash actually is more than $5.5M but not much more. #RedSox needed to include that much to get better return. #WhiteSox
June 24, 201213 yr Kenny sure does love his past-their-prime players. Vizquel, Griffey, Hudson, Youkilis, Ramirez edit: forgot the dreaded one Edited June 24, 201213 yr by Real

You start Youk in the 8th/9th spots until he shows you he can do something other than walk. If he keeps hitting .150 there, then in 3 weeks we'll be trying to trade for another 3b.

Nice to see from a Sox fan standpoint..........those 2 guys are cannon fodder. Boston fan board has to be so pissed at this deal overall. Edited June 24, 201213 yr by Soxfest

June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Real @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Kenny sure does love his past-their-prime players. Vizquel, Griffey, Hudson, Youkilis Youk was still pretty damn good last year.
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) My ideal spot for Youk is in between the Cubans. Break up the free swingers. Also not great to put him in the 9th spot because then he slows down De Aza's speed game any time he's on base. 8th is a good place to start, and if he suddenly starts hitting like 2 years ago, then move him on up.
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Real @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:41 PM) Kenny sure does love his past-their-prime players. Vizquel, Griffey, Hudson, Youkilis Kenny w always gets his old man. Guess Jamie Mo is next. Dang we need another starter to make this work. Open up the vault Jerry Reins.

Dayan's not exactly lighting the world on fire, so I wouldn't oppose moving him down to 8. I think the important thing is that Hudson's finally out of the lineup.
