Gordon Beckham=Brent Lillibridge 2011

At least this week.

Strange how managers always tend to want to go with veterans down the stretch, whether they're grizzled retreads or completely inexperienced first-year guys.

UNLESS, they just told Hudson...your job is to bunt every single time AT Cabrera.

The funny thing is that I've seen probably 30-40 Tigers' games this season and that running in on the bunt and throwing across his body is one of the things he does the best. I've only seen him make 1 or 2 errors. It's usually the routine plays that trip him up.

And, of course, his lack of range.

For a guy that's over weight he's played just about every game.

Here come the excuses...

Every pitcher that faces us has no hit stuff.

There it is. Hawk mentioning Paulie's health again. He's about 40 percent I bet. I wonder if he's playing with a cracked bone.

It's that floating bone chip or fragment in his wrist.

He's had injections to try to clear it up, but it must be rubbing against a bone or "impinging" on something in his hand...

Oh, quiet, you. They're just acknowledging the fact that Scherzer happens to have great stuff, hence his impressive stats this year.

Yep, I'm just pointing out he looks unhittable.

AJ helping Scherzer out there....

Ugh. We might get no-hit from here on out tonight at this rate, even with two of our notorious slider speed hitters on the bench in Viciedo and Beckham.

Well he gave up a hit. So no he doesnt

Tell me something I don't know. He's good.

This is why last night's game was so important.

ugh this offense I understand this pitcher is good but the at-bats are not even giving themselves a chance.

Damn it.

We have to make Scherzer throw us three strikes per AB. If he does that, well then we're probably f***ed

Gavin looking DIRTY

Holy s*** Gavin has a yakker for a curve tonight.

Where was this Gavin Floyd all season long?

He's pitching at a noticeably faster pace than usual. Just getting the ball and throwing it back to the catcher.

And his curveball has been impressive in nullifying the bats of a mostly FB hitting team.

f***ing nice f***ig inning f***ing Gavin.

Gavin looking every bit as unhittable the past couple of innings as Scherzer.

Healthy Gavin = good

We could use his right handed presence in the rotation next year. I might give him that $10M and give Peavy a nice pat on the ass on his way out

Gavin looking good, nice to see and makes this game easier to stomach if he can get in a groove. This offense is atrocious right now.

Thanks for bringing that up. Scherzer is awesome but Floyd looks good too.

Not a big fan of running with our power hitter up. How often do we have runners on base lately for our alleged power hitters?

Its not like he is hitting the long ball anyway.,

I agree except for the pat on the ass

I don't see how anybody beats their starting pitchers. It's the same thing everytime I tune in. Their pitchers are pouring strikes in there and we are doing very little with their pitches. Last night's two solo homers meant nothing. Solo homers don't mean squat.

Their defense is the worst in all of baseball, with one of the best CFs in the game.

Yep, much more likely to get the run home by stealing 2nd and then Konerko singles to right.
