December 22, 20169 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) Do the podcast the show when it's over or anything? I'm concerned they'll edit a lot of that out.
December 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) Do the podcast the show when it's over or anything? There's a montage of great moments from the show here. I haven't listened to it, though. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/12/22/lis...oments-montage/ Edited December 23, 20169 yr by Middle Buffalo
December 29, 20169 yr Is Cowley pairing up with Bernstein to replace Boers? I could have sworn I heard him say that he looks forward to January 5th? (I was sort of half listening on my lunch break) If so that would reach a new level smarmy greater than though radio right there, yeesh.

December 29, 20169 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) Jan 5th is the Boers show, that's what he was referring to I thought they already had the final show. So they are having another final show then.
December 29, 20169 yr So sad Sam Miller is leaving ew podcast. I liked Lindberghs writing more but Sam was hilarious on the podcast.
December 30, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) I thought they already had the final show. So they are having another final show then. It is a Boers farewell show, I believe he is hosting by himself and they are playing a bunch of old calls and bits. I think it's just just own goodbye to radio
January 5, 20179 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Wow, Boers does not look good... Yeah I just seen a pic of him with Mac and Speigs. He has been cryptic ever since he announced his retirement. He has acted as if he is saying good bye on a much larger scale than just his career and the friends he made.
January 5, 20179 yr Mike Greenberg is going to be on in the 4:00 hour. What a weird crossing of worlds for someone who was too young to listen when Greeny was at WSCR. Honestly, this show is incredible today. Must-listen stuff. Edited January 5, 20179 yr by Deadpool

Hard to not get emotional with these guys actually.
January 6, 20179 yr According to this story, he had cancer in his jaw and had bone from his fibula taken to replace it http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chica...0105-story.html

January 6, 20179 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 03:23 PM) He has acted as if he is saying good bye on a much larger scale than just his career and the friends he made. I've thought the same thing. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 04:03 PM) Honestly, this show is incredible today. Must-listen stuff. McNeil was hilarious. It sure was great to hear his voice again. I wish he'd come back to sports radio, but it almost sounded like he doesn't want to (based on his vague conversation with Terry in the 2:00 hour) Will a podcast be available?

I wish he'd come back to sports radio, but it almost sounded like he doesn't want to (based on his vague conversation with Terry in the 2:00 hour) Will a podcast be available? The whole thing is now up on iTunes, I'm in hour 3 right now. Really great stuff, I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed Mike North, he's damn good when just telling stories and not going for shock value, same for McNeil. Jiggetts is still the man and very cool hearing Terry interact with Ofman again. Rongey's segment made me cringe, I get what he was going for, that's his thing but man, that was a bit much, loved the story though.
January 8, 20179 yr QUOTE (Donaldo @ Jan 7, 2017 -> 06:28 PM) I just had a thought... Was Bernstein there? Yes.
January 8, 20179 yr yea Bernstein and Holmes both showed up in the last hour, both desperately trying to seem poignant and make the moment about themselves rather than Boers. The stuff with McNiel, Jiggets and North was awesome but you just knew the "evolved" Score personalities were gonna barge it and ruin it all, and sure enough they did.

A whole show just ripping Murph would bring me back to sports talk radio.

This is the same as the Hawk vs. Bennetti discussion. Entertainment vs. professionalism. Fans vs. hosts.
January 8, 20179 yr I'm half way through the fourth hour, and I would have been happy to have North, Jiggets & McNeil up there for the whole show. All of that was like a flash back to transitions from twenty years ago. The Murphy stuff was a mixture of funny and undignified. I think I could have done without it (though I always thought Murph was a tool). The most poignant thing so far was Goff. He was great, and his tribute to TB was so heartfelt. Just finished. Not at all surprising that Bernstein made it about himself. If I produced the show, I would have started with Bernstein, assorted guests in the middle, with the Mosters individually, then the Monsters together with the Heavy Fuel Crew, then finished with McNeil and Boers.
