Ventura and Hahn in closed door meeting

Featured Replies

Mark Gonzalez just tweeted that Hahn and Ventura were in a closed door meeting. I posted this here because there is no catch all thread haha. Obviously, they could be meeting for any reason but this time of year it could be for many different reasons.

You wonder if it has to do with who needs to be showcased, etc or if it is more on moves that are about to come up. Very interesting. I keep waiting for the first move to be made.

I'd imagine it's nothing big. Probably letting Robin know what's going on in terms of player movement on the horizon. Maybe seeking his opinion on certain players. I'm sure it's difficult for them to find a time and place to talk during the season

Or it could be Hahn simply telling Ventura to stop abusing Sale's arm.

I think a text would suffice

Stop it w/ Sale re: pitches k thx bye

Uh oh, the jig is up! ;)

Lol...I agree this conversation wouldn't require a closed door meeting, but my god, Robin needs to stop doing his best Dusty Baker impersonation. At some point Hahn has to tell Robin this.

they should have had this discussion a month ago.

Thornton, e.g., should only be used against lefties for the next month. Ventura blew that last night. And if Hahn hadn't made it clear to Ventura what the main goals are at this point (putting as much make-up as you can on these players in order to trade them), then Hahn's at fault.

And there clearly is no need to pitch Sale, Quintana, or Santiago over 110 pitches anymore this season (arguably, they shouldn't exceed 100).

It's the 21st century. Do they really need to have a "closed door" meeting? There are so many means of communication to get your point across, it's not like addressing a whole team.

They probably were just discussing Peavy.

3 weeks left until the deadline. Hahn has a lot of work to do. Time to clean up this mess. TImes a ticking. ...

Twitter suggests they were talking about trades. Robin said something to the effect that he has mixed feelings about whether he wants advanced notice on trades

Not to get all deep...but that's a HUGE issue with today's society...disassociation and lack of interpersonal skills. So I'm all for closed door meetings...

Probably blaming each other.

Yeah probably not

Probably deciding what to get Gillaspie for a new baby/christening gift.

RH: I just never know what to get for these things. Do you get the kid clothes? Is the gift for the parents? What do you think, Robby?

RV: Cash is king, Ricker.

Kenny and OZ 2.0

They are coming to blows.

You are so right.

Figuring out how to deal with increased media attention/fan hordes for Phegley. A la Nomo-mania or the beatles

Yes, I can see the guy who just offered Ventura an extension, now flipping and blaming him.

To be fair...the quality of performance of the players is somewhat different between now and the point at which the extension was offered,.

I feel like if Kaner's mullet walked into the clubhouse, Phegley's would smack it across the face and tell it to go back to Buffalo.
