Well, my own review was pretty scathing, just can't believe that it has reached such a nadir in comparison with the Marvel Universe, but it's their own fault.

 

I simply meant I expected at least 3-5 people to see it the first weekend, pretty telling that nobody really seems to be so excited about it.

It was good for a Spider-Man movie, mainly because Garfield, Stone, and DeHaan knocked it out of the park.

 

They wasted Norman though. The fact that Norman Osborn is dead without becoming the Goblin is sickening.

 

I'd give it a 7/10. Great action scenes, great acting. Reminded me of Iron Man 2, to be honest. If you go in wanting a Spider-Man flick and not something like The Winter Soldier or The Dark Knight, you should come out happy. It's a popcorn action flick.

 

It can be better though. They really need to speed the plot up for whatever they're building.

 

Also...they did a subtle hint at SHIELD.

 

When they mention the Rhino being imprisoned in The Vault.

 

In the comics The Vault is a SHIELD facility and has been mentioned in the MCU. Yeah, I know it means nothing.

Most movie franchises get rebooted. Most actors don't want to spend their whole careers playing the same character.

I'm not sure that's a good example. James Bond wasn't really "rebooted" until Daniel Craig and Casino Royale. Some of the series peripheral cast (M, Q, Moneypenny) stayed the same despite changes in the actor playing 007. Other roles (Blofeld, Felix Leiter) changed even between the Sean Connery films. And Judi Dench played M to both Pierce Brosnan and Danile Craig.

With every new actor playing Bond, the series felt different. Some of the small characters stayed the same, but almost every era feels different.

 

 

I just don't really mind reboots. The only problem I have with it is that we get too many origin story movies.

Neighbors was hilarious. Not just a vulgar comedy but good characters.

There's been a great fan theory for a while that the name "James Bond" is a code name associated with the agent ID "007", allowing Judi Dench to be M for multiple Bonds and keep somewhat of a continuity.

I tried to slog my way through "God's Not Dead" and barely made it. Watching Kevin Sorbo as an atheist philosophy professor was entertainment in and of itself, along with Dean Cain playing playing himself in real life, essentially. That was priceless. If only there was a Teri Hatcher sighting.

About twelve in the last five days. Too many too mention. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak from 1988 was one of them... which is their take on Romeo and Juliet. As far as I am concerned it is the best take on Romeo and Juliet I have ever seen. His raw emotions for his "Juliet'' is beyond compare. To say he loved her would be a disgrace to the meaning of the word. The ending? Superbly shot... gut wrenching. Heh. Also, I am sure you being a teacher you love the film ''Like Stars On Earth''? If you did not know, it was a rather personal film to him, and it was his directorial debut.

 

His new film, which he has co-written, Peekay (2014) sounds rather intriguing to me.

 

An alien comes to Earth to meet a prostitute with a heart-of-gold and changes the opinion of humans on the existence of God.
