Thanks bullpen. f***

The reason he dropped to us in the draft and the reason we got his contract done as it is...it all comes back to the same thing. He's either one of those genetic freaks that can throw the way he does....and be fine for years and years.........or it wont be years and years

Not a big deal overall but the timing sure does suck.

Maybe no 125+ pitch counts for awhile would be a good idea. Please be minor.

Boooooo. Hope it is nothing more then just soreness from throwing so much because of the dumb bullpen and Robin's misuse of said bullpen

Don Cooper said pitch count guys "are idiots".

Hope that is all it is or 60 wins will be a major challenge.

Waiting to develop pitchers to fill out the rotation around Sale is incredibly risky.

Cooper is a great self-promoter.

Sale is different because of the incredible value he has due to his contract. Either put four ready-made pitchers around him or deal him.

Wait, not sure who I'm supposed to blame. Can we go over choices again?

I don't think Chris Sale missing the rest of this season will cost this team 15 wins at the minimum, unless you already pegged us somewhere in the mid 60s.

Shouldn't be a big deal. Well see.

How does the rest of the rotation effect Chris Sale's soreness, exactly?

The only way it could have a big impact is if he's out for an extended period, and the Sox end up trading Danks. All of a sudden you have Quintana and 4 guys that could be in the minors in the rotation. This is what's happened to the Cubs the last few years, and that's when the losses really add up.

Ok, well it wasn't said that all the sudden 40% of our rotation would be gone, he just said Sale. Losing Sale doesn't cost us 15+ wins.

It's that scenario, and only that one, where the calculus for trading Sale starts to shift into...maybe. (Especially now that Avisail's been pushed back a year of development).

Nevertheless, we're still sitting in decent shape of Erik Johnson is legit, and with the 3 pick contributing to the rotation as early as late 2015.

As has been discussed a million times, there's going to be a good 15-25 options out there for a 5 starter when the time's critical that they need a guy who isn't a rehab experiment like Paulino or Hanson.

dat pitch count

I don't totally disagree within reason. 125 pitches isn't too many as long as it isn't every game which it hasn't been.
