April 21, 201411 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) I don't totally disagree within reason. 125 pitches isn't too many as long as it isn't every game which it hasn't been. How about the 127 being a career high so early in the season? Does the timing of it matter, or no?
April 21, 201411 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 12:04 AM) I just heard if he doesn't pitch tomorrow, he may go Wednesday. It really makes no sense to rush him if there's any unusual soreness.
April 21, 201411 yr QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) I don't think Chris Sale missing the rest of this season will cost this team 15 wins at the minimum, unless you already pegged us somewhere in the mid 60s. I had them about 72 with Sale without him about 60. This bullpen and whoever would take his spot IF he was gone 12 to 15 wins easy it is still April IMO. Edited April 21, 201411 yr by Soxfest
April 21, 201411 yr All I know from this routine soreness is that there is no conclusion too big or unlikely to jump to.
April 21, 201411 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) How about the 127 being a career high so early in the season? Does the timing of it matter, or no? It all depended on how his body has reacted to the previous starts. Between ST and the beginning of the season they (Cooper) should have a good idea of his conditioning. I don't have a problem with 127 pitches as long as it isn't consistently done.
April 21, 201411 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) How about the 127 being a career high so early in the season? Does the timing of it matter, or no? Maybe I am wrong, but I look at it as conditioning. There are guys conditioned to run a marathon and others for the 400. But you have to be in the right shape to do so. I don't think Sale is in 'shape' to go that far this early in the season.

April 21, 201411 yr Sale seems to be very open and honest about any arm troubles or pain. That's a good thing given how important his arm is to the Sox. (I'm sure the meat head crowd will portray it as a sign of weakness. )
April 22, 201411 yr Author Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 41s Chris Sale is going on the disabled list. #WhiteSox Welp
April 22, 201411 yr Son of a b****!! I hope he isn't the next big pitching injury. Hope it's just a 2 week thing

April 22, 201411 yr This is why you don't have your star SP throw 127 pitches. Edited April 22, 201411 yr by Jose Abreu

April 22, 201411 yr QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 09:26 PM) how many starts is he going to miss then? 3 is my guess. Maybe 4. Edited April 22, 201411 yr by Jose Abreu
April 22, 201411 yr Author Aren't flexor muscle strains typically from overuse? My brain is telling me so but I'm not sure where I'm actually getting that information from.
