Even for the biggest spenders, that's a lot of money to tie up on two hitters who both have to play either 1B or DH.

I am glad he is here.................they would all bid different today.

Imagine this team with Tanaka.

Tampa bay with a case of the '13 whitesox

They clearly are not coached well. Good thing Martinez didn't get the Sox job.

If the Sox play like this, Ventura is not qualified. Maddon must be a buffoon.

Errors coming into today:

Tampa Bay: 7 (best in AL)

White Sox: 17 (middle of the pack, which is a huge improvement from last year all things considered).

Hypothetical - if Abreu was named a free agent today, what would the bidding reach?

Let's go Flowers

Just from what we've seen this month I'd guess close to $100 million.

I think he'd be signed to a 6/100 kind of deal.

Right, because Leury has done next to nothing this year and Garcia's injured. Wow

You could probably put a one in front of the contract he got.

This is a huge rest of the game for Robin and Coop managing nine more outs with this pen. It's really up to the relievers' control/mindset. If they don't walk people they'll at least have a fighting chance to protect the 4-run lead.

So what does that mean for the team with 2x the number of errors?

Or are you doing nothing but the usual trolling and wasting everyone's time?

Remember, Abreu could opt for arbitration after year 3. It's going to be interesting to see what the Sox do, and how it all plays out.

Just got home.

Dear lord Abreu.

How's Carroll looked?

One reason people are hard on Ventura when the Sox play poorly or when he makes questionable decisions that don't turn out well may be the fact that he was hired with absolutely no coaching experience at any level and would have never even been considered by any other organization.

Abreu would have 11 and 30 if not for the wind blowing against him at 22 MPH.

DeAza probably would have had another.

All-time rookie record in both categories for Jose Daniel with games still to go, albeit against some tough pitching.

Don't think those 4 errors will stand up, as one against Myers was a brain cramp and not a physical one...allowing Eaton to score from 3rd.

Rays had 3 errors in one, now 4 until it changes (guess Myers bobbled it before throwing to the cutoff man), just 7 on the entire season and leading the majors before that inning in the least amount of errors.

Something like 3-4 very generous infield hits for the White Sox in this game. Price has to be going crazy, but part of the damage was self-inflicted with the throw down the line.

It's too bad they didn't spend some money on the pitching staff because this offense might just be the real deal.
