McCarthy had a pretty damn good season.

 

 

Who does that leave on the pitcher's market?

 

Peavy, Vogelsong, Volquez, B. Anderson, Floyd, Josh Johnson, Masterson?

 

Kuroda retiring? Aaron Harang? Brandon Morrow? Maholm?

If you go by Heaney's MLB Prospect Ranking, he's 18 and Rodon is 19.

 

I'd be furious if we traded Rodon for Heaney.

It seems like that trade has been talked about for weeks now. Porcello seems to improve last year, I don't see how this trade makes Detroit any better.

Definitely hinges on who they get back but nonetheless this is great for the Sox. A K machine.

I guess Porcello will hit free agency next year too. I had assumed that he had more years of control left than that. That makes this a little more even.

That should put them in better position to compete with the White Sox.
