Beat me to it. Good signing

Now sign Andrew Miller.

Welp that means no Andrew Miller probably. As I posted in the other thread I'm not his biggest fan but it's a step in the right direction.

Good Stuff

Sounds like a good signing to me as long as the price tag isn't outrageous, which I can't see it being.

Great signing!

Good signing...depending on the money involved. But, certainly a step to solidify the bullpen.

Zach Duke had a really good year last year. Curious to see the $$ but I love it.

If it is any more than a couple million guarantee, it is pissing money away.

Well they threw away 3 million at Belisario last year lol sooooo I wouldn't be upset if it was that number.

Let's make some guesses...

3 yrs/ 11.5.

Too low?

Me likey.

Jesus DA, what did you want for LH in the bullpen?

This guy has been horrible for a while both in the bullpen and starting. He has one crazy good year. I read on here don't spend money on the bullpen. REGRESSION is almost guaranteed. It's worth a little money to see if he actually has become someone you can count on, but not a lot.

Let's hope we get 2012/2014 Zach Duke and not the Zach Duke who was a dumpster fire in 2013....Fairly meh on the signing till I see how he performs.

That'd be a great deal. Thinking something like 16 over three is more likely. Hope it is closer to 11.5 though. Love the deal. First of many moves I am sure.

I'm good with this. There's a little bit of a Will Ohman feel to this signing, but Duke was really, really good last year and it coincided with him throwing a cutter.

Solid

He's not strictly situational, which is great.

It will be interesting to see the dollar figure, but I think I'd rather have Duke at what I am guessing will be less than half the cost and at least one year less than Miller.

His K-rate went from Buerhle to Kershaw. I doubt that continues.

As I just pointed out, the one good year also coincided with an increased usage of cutters (or sliders) and curveballs. Based on his pitch usage charts, he's not throwing anything straight anymore.

I am going to guess 2 years, $9 million, with a club option for a 3rd year at $5 million or a $1 million buyout.
